Lina is a generous teacher and a wonderful interlocutor for practicing Spanish speech. She is a very effective teacher, is extremely flexible, and always shared stories to help ingrain the pedagogical point she was trying to make. I look forward to continuing to meet with her!Jun 2, 2017Verified
Lina is great. I meet with her once a week for conversational Spanish. She's very relatable, flexible, and easy going. She's a great teacher and I would recommend her to anyone!Nov 9, 2016Verified
Lina is coming to my house to give a once weekly Spanish lesson and opportunity for conversation for myself and two other friends. I have only positives to say about Lina and the experience she provides. She is organized, warm, friendly - which is conducive to conversation - responsive to our particular needs, and has many years of experience teaching Spanish to draw on for our group.Jan 29, 2016Verified
My girlfriend and I travel frequently to Mexico and decided to take Spanish lessons with Professor Lina. She's been fantastic in finding creative ways to teach me Spanish. I can truly say she is one of the best teachers I've ever had! Ed FlowersJun 9, 2015Verified
She is a native Spanish speaking person and a natural teacher, works with you on what you need to improve and is a very pleasant person overall. I like to think that I have made a friend that I can practice Spanish with.Dec 21, 2014Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I have a base fee for my tutoring. However, I tailor the pricing of my services on a number of factors because each client is different. I offer discounts if clients come to me, for example, or if a client buys a package of classes as opposed to just one lesson at a time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, having a phone conversation to get acquainted, followed by a discussion on the needs, goals and availabilties of each client. Then setting up a time and place to meet. I highly recommend notebooks and recording devices for tutoring lessons. After lessons are completed, I like to set up projected goals for the next class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?A lifetime of work in Spanish language communications, including national broadcast television journalism, radio programming, independent media consulting, arts advocacy, Spanish marketing services (regional, national and international), over 35 years of Spanish voice-over services, independent and full-time educational services as a World Language teacher and consultancy in multi-cultural performing arts performance and programming.
