About
I work from a functional nutrition standpoint which means I look at the whole body as one synergistic functioning system. When there are imbalances in one area it effects all others. I look for and fix those imbalances. I give serious attention to detail and really care about my clients & their progress. Clients lose the bloating, gas, fatigue, brain fog, weight, & many nagging symptoms. I don't guess at this, I use real diagnostic testing that identifies problematic foods or identifies metabolic deficiencies. I then construct appropriate dietary therapy to correct the imbalances or toxic overload. Also provide recipes, meal plans, support and lifestyle change education to assist with emotional aspect of eating. Provide culinary and cooking instruction so you learn how food is your medicine, nourishment and sustenance. Eat to live healthfully!
Helping people to get well, and seeing them elated about the outcome. Helping people learn how important nutrition is to every cell in your body and that it effects everything-how you feel, how you age, how you perform and how you avoid illness. Nutrition goes way beyond "diet".

What brought me to consult with Donna was the desire to lose some menopause weight. Through our first appointment, a full health history was taken and discussed. Issues such as my autoimmune condition, acid reflux/GIRD, and lifestyle led to a recommendation to test for food sensitivities. I decided the testing would be an investment in my health. I had experienced these issues for more than 15 years and wanted solutions. She recommended the LEAP program after seeing my test results. The elimination/add-back plan was hard to follow at first, but I was determined to be successful. Within three months, I was off my medication for acid reflux/GIRD. I am working toward the weight loss aspect by following a Mediterranean-style plan which includes the food I am able to eat without reaction. I would recommend this program to others as it is an investment in your overall health and well-being. Please be patient to see results. To be successful, I am finding I need to change my mindset and slow down my expectations. There is no quick-fix to being healthy.

When I started working with Donna Wolf seven months ago, I came to her with a history of chronic cluster migraines, painful muscle spasms and numerous symptoms of IBS among other ailments. As a “healthy” young woman in her thirties I was in need of a remedy other than medication that had simply been putting a band-aid on issues. I began the LEAP program and followed the individualized plan wholeheartedly. While it took much effort and diligence, it paid off! I began with a symptom score of 65 and my most recent score was an 18. This decrease represents gut healing and inflammatory reduction of chronic illness. I am almost entirely weaned off my migraine medication now, have less pain and fewer symptoms overalls. I’m continuing with what I’ve learned my body needs (and needs to stay away from) in order to continue feeling better and improve my quality of life moving forward. I’m incredibly grateful to have experienced the LEAP protocol and worked with Donna.

I came to Donna Wolf with Healthy Directions because I was approaching 70 years and still not getting a handle on my weight. All of the diets and plans I had tried to date had my weight yo-yoing up and down as I passed from their management to self-management. There was something I wasn’t getting right. Healthy Directions gets the concept that every person’s situation is different because of their unique histories of food exposures and developed sensitivities. After my LEAP test results came back, the next couple of months were eye-openers because I dropped almost 20 pounds without doing much of anything except avoiding the foods I was sensitive to. Wow! Healthy Directions has much in common with other plans, because incorporation of good sleep, hydration, balanced diet and exercise are always vital for success. But they don’t obsess over any one factor; instead focusing on getting inflammation managed. By reducing that irritation, it’s easier to make good health choices. The next 20 pounds will be easier to ditch now, simply because I know now how my body behaves when I eat certain foods. That feeling of ‘starving’ was more of an addiction-style reaction to eating too much of one thing. Healthy Directions showed me that feeling was actually a choice – one I didn’t have to make.

I've had psoriatic arthritis for 15 years. The severity of my arthritis during the first 14 years was mild: 1-2 painful fingers which were easily treated with NSAIDS and often went into remission. During this past year, however, my arthritis became much worse, making joints in my feet, legs, hips, arms, and hands very painful. I noticed that certain foods made my condition worse, and when I fasted for a medical exam my joint pain felt significantly better. Research into this phenomena led me to the concept of food sensitivities, to the LEAP Protocol/Diet, and to Donna Wolf.
Under Donna's expert care I've been on the LEAP Diet for over 6 months. LEAP uses the "MRT" blood test to generate an initial list of foods that are likely to cause inflammation-causing food sensitivities, and foods that are not. The diet is phased starting with the least sensitive foods on the MRT list, then other low sensitivity foods are introduced to see how your body reacts. At the end of the phased diet a large list of foods was generated that were proven to not cause inflammation and pain. This process would not have been possible without Donna Wolf's expertise. Donna ordered the MRT test and guided the LEAP process every step of the way. She instructed me on how the LEAP process works, made adjustments to my food list, answered any EMAIL/Phone questions I had, and recommended high quality supplements that dovetailed with my list of low sensitivity foods.
The results were nothing less than astounding. My joint pain is several orders of magnitude better than when I started LEAP. The pain in my feet, knees, and hips is vastly improved. The pain in my fingers, arms, and shoulders is significantly improved and getting better every week I adhere to my low sensitivity foods. Before I started LEAP I could barely get out of a chair. Walking was extremely painful, and using my hands for everyday tasks was very painful or not possible. 6 months later I am fully mobile and hope to be pain free in the coming months. A huge side benefit of the LEAP diet is that I’ve lost over 30 pounds and my blood pressure is down 20 points. LEAP is a whole foods diet which tends to be low in sugar and refined carbohydrates, and very high in fiber.
In summary, I URGE anyone with arthritis or other inflammatory disease to consider the LEAP Protocol/Diet and make an appointment with Donna Wolf. Your doctor/rheumatologist will likely not tell you about food sensitivities and/or LEAP because he/she likely doesn't know about it (or doesn’t want to tell you about it!). The LEAP Diet is the closest thing there is to a cure for my arthritis, it has changed my life for the better!
