FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always seeking out new way to improve. I research and implement new techniques, work with other photographers, and continue my education through mentoring with veterans in the business. I believe the minute you stop growing is the minute you fail in this business.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked, for a great while, as an Accountant for a government contractor. I enjoyed my career, I loved being analytical and very structured; after I had my daughter I found how important photographs meant to me, I found a way to be creative, which I never though I had in me, and also I found the meaning of having beautiful memories to look back on. I still miss accounting at times, but the beauty is now that I am a business woman I get to do my own accounting and still produce artwork for my living.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Chose your photographer wisely, be sure the one you pick is the right photographer for you. Ask questions, make sure that your vision aligns with your photographer's passion. Look at your photographer's portfolio, ask to see a full event so you know how their work will look from start to finish, not just the best of the best. And most importantly, make sure the photographer you hire is one you can build a relationship with, you will be sharing your most intimate moments with them.
