FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
With over 10 years of design and Photoshop experience I ventured into creating my own photography business. I knew it was time when I was working at a job for over a year with a boss who told me my work was "magazine quality", and yet the pay did not reflect that. I moved on and created my own business to offer my "magazine quality" work for others who seem to enjoy it far more.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Family beach sessions, whether 2 people or 40 people. I've captured a lot of reunions and larger families and exceed the expectations with these events. I love capturing small outdoor events and beach weddings, they are just so wonderful along the Florida Gulf Coast. I also have worked for a magazine and have published work.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There is so much that I would recommend to others looking for a photographer. Be certain that they have shot many sessions just like the one you are inquiring about. Also be sure that the photographer you are hiring is actually the individual who will show up, and not some sort of second or outsourced amateur. Years of experience can be important, but not as much as talent or growth. I've seen someone grow from an amateur photographer in 2 years while others may take 10 years. The biggest difference between a good photographer and a bad photographer is the usage of light. Make certain that your photographer understands light, especially the light that will be present for your session. Everyone has different pricing, so figure out an idea of what you are interested in up front. Ask a total quote of what that roughly will be so there are no surprises.
