Introduction
Growing up, I was always self conscious about the way I looked. I was insecure due to being a smaller guy, so I decided it was time for a change. I began strength training at a local gym and started noticing changes in not only how I looked, but also how I felt. After my time in the Army Reserve as a Military Police Officer, I decided to become certified and work as a Personal Trainer. I immediately fell in love with helping people change their lives for the better. I ended up getting my bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Cal State University, Fullerton. I have now been training for 13 years, helping thousands of people reach their goal (some of which to lose over 100 pounds). We can help you too!

To be successful, you've got to want it more than anything else. It's no different when it comes to losing weight. Dave's approach is to educate you and keeping it simple. What do I mean by that? First off, I'm not a gym person by any means. Ok, maybe a decade ago but surely not now. I train with Dave semi-privately twice a week. The other 2-3 days I apply what I learn and exercise by myself. Does that mean I learned quickly or sat there doing nothing? NOPE! He creates a custom workout plan that allows me to apply what I've learned. Additionally, it comes with videos that shows the correct form of the exercise! Win! Secondly, we've all heard the saying, "abs are made in the kitchen." If you're anything like me, I absolutely despise dieting. There's actually two different routes you can take on this. The first route is logging everything you eat. You can't make changes when you're not tracking your inputs. Dave will suggest slight changes so that you can cut calories, little by little, from your eating habit. Example: cutting out soda and/or sugary drinks or using oil spray vs actual oil. Obviously meal prepping takes time. If you're willing to spend some money, check out Black Market Meal Prep. I'm not going to review it but do yourself a solid favor and invest in your health. If you opt for Black Market, be prepared to amaze yourself with the quantity/quality of food that's no more than 400 calories. If you enjoy taking the educational route GO TO DAVE!!! You won't regret it but just remember the work you put in is the work you get out. No one can do the work for you. Dave can be the number 1 trainer in the world but if you don't do the work you made Dave as relevant as a magic weight loss pill. Final thought...support a vet! Thanks for your service brother! Hooah

Training with Dave was like taking a shot in the dark. I’ve never been to a gym much less a training facility. It’s intimidating and scary. Training with Dave though is effortless. All those scary thoughts about the gym are gone now. It’s been a month and a half and Dave and his team are so friendly it makes this place feel like home. I’ve seen so many improvements not just in my physical appearance, but my mental state, my tolerance to get one more set in, and my ability to last longer in outside workouts. I’ve also changed my eating habits for the better, because of Dave. I don’t feel as sluggish, and find myself seeking more healthy meals. He doesn’t shame me for having a cheat day or two, but just reminds me that the healthy choices are the better choices and for the most part even the tastier choices. A month and a half in and I know I want to stick to this and make it a life change for the long run! Thank you Dave and team!

I was looking for a personal trainor/training facility that was close to my house that will help me with my goal of losing weight, be/stay healthy and fit and find one that will keep me motivated. In the past, I was so lazy going to the gym and not eating healthy. Then I found SMTF through yelp and they have great reviews. I scheduled a consult and met with Dave. He did explained to me that each of his client have customized workouts and meal plans. He will even design and keep track of your workouts that you need to do on days you were not in session/training. He will keep track of your meal intakes as well. Dave will help you keep motivated to keep going. When I started, I was 166.9 lbs, 38.6 % body fat, 14/16 clothes size (10/23/19) and as of today (01/15//20) I’m 152 lbs, 33.1% body fat, 10/12 clothes size and lost total of about 12 Ibs inches in body circumferences. I will try my best akeep going. I will definitely recommend trying this facility out!!!.
