FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing I like to keep simple. Home users I offer a 90 minute service for a flat price. If the service is going to run long, you have a choice of continuing on the clock at an hourly rate or I will offer to take the computer and service it in my office for a flat rate that includes the time already taken plus any parts or software that might be needed. Business is straight hourly, minimums do apply depending on distance. I do not charge mileage.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading and reviewing the developments in both hardware and software. I taught a couple of classes at Skyline College, a Basic Network and a Data Cabling class. Combine those with keeping pace with the tools of this trade, I stay up with most developments.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While in the military and taking some classes at Skyline College, I started asking myself what I wanted to do after retiring from the military. At the time, I saw there was a void between the people using computers at home and the service providers to fix them for the home users. In 2002, I was laid off from a dot com job and decided that now was the time to jump in a put my skills to work... I have not looked back since.
