Mark Nichols Modern Interiors

Introduction: Mark Nichols is a highly-regarded interior designer located in the epicenter of modernism, Palm Springs, California. He is committed creating refined contemporary interiors, appropriate for the home's architecture and the surrounding natural environment. While many of Mark's designs are less decorative and more architectural, his artistic use of color and texture creates warmth, sophistication, and comfortable live-ability. After receiving his interior design training at UCLA, and following a brief stint as a project manager at a large residential firm, Mark established his own company. Soon, his designs were being published in several of the foremost interior design magazines, including Metropolitan Home, California Home and Design, Palms Springs Life, and LA Times West Magazine. His designs were also featured on HGTV, where he was named one of America's top 10 designers. Metropolitan Home magazine named Mark as one of Generation Next: America's Designers to Watch, calling him, one of the newest nationally emerging interior designers for his modern designs and his abiding commitment to the environment. This interest in sustainability and modernism had inspired Mark to move to the desert in 2003, after experiencing a revelation at a recently refurbished William Cody hotel. Since then, he has been committed to a thoughtful selection of materials to minimize impact and maximize style and functionality. Creating spaces that are ecologically responsible, sophisticated, and contemporary on-time and on the budget are key elements in all of Mark's designs. To that end, he has earned the highest accreditation from the US Green Building Council in sustainable building practices: LEED AP ID+C, and has served as the chair of the Palm Springs Sustainability Commission. Mark finds pleasure not just in the creative aspect of his work, but also in the client relationship and project management of each new design project. Maintaining constant communication with his clients, and ensuring that they feel comfortable with the process is of the utmost importance to Mark, who feels the integrity of his word is the most important tool he has in his kit.
