Overall, no complaints about the move. The guys that came are professional. They were careful with my stuff and easy to work with. The furniture that needed wrapping were wrapped. Everything was tied down and secured in the truck. So thank you!
The feedback for the administration is on the billing process. At the beginning, I thought it was odd that I wasn’t given any paperwork. Usually, I thought each item that goes on the truck would be written down and tagged on some inventory list. This way you would know that everything that goes on the truck ended up at the destination. I don’t have that much stuff so I didn’t give it a second thought. At awkward situation came at the end of the move. On the phone, I was told that the move was for 6 hours when the move only took 4 hours ( 3.5 hr for the loading and unloading + 30 mins for the driving from place of my move origin to my move destination, one way). With all other moving companies, I was given upfront notice of the 3hrs minimum plus the “double drive time”. In my case, my move should cost 3.5hr + the 1hr (double drive time). Instead I was told on the phone at the end of the move that my total is 6 hours ($720) because the mover has to drive from South Bay to SF. Now, if this was the case, why would anyone hire movers from long distance when they’re doing a local move??
In the end, I was told that I was given a discount at the price of $650, and that no one else complained about including the drive time from “warehouse” into the bill. I felt slighted because my move should’ve been $540 plus tip. I paid $700 in cash because I thought the movers deserved the tip.
