Kara from DeNoise was our photographer. And she was lovely to work with during a long day at a tech conference. Absolutely would hire again. Thanks!
Nabor Godoy was fantastic. I needed a headshot for work on short notice. He more than delivered! He has a great studio in downtown San Francisco. I got there and he was ready. We went over lighting and backdrop options. I am not very good at smiling for the camera, but he brought out the best in me. He is good natured and talented! We did a series of shots and then paused to look. He and I talked about the work I do and agreed which photo was best. He said he’d work a bit on the shading and wow, two hours later I had it. It was great — better than I expected, and much better than anything I might ask a friend to do on an I-phone. Totally satisfied.
I was looking for an affordable, no frills, family photographer-- I received 10 bids thru thumbtack, and Lawrence's bid was LESS than 1/3 the cost of the others-- PLUS he gave us the DVD with all the prints (most photographers will only allow you to order prints thru them). He scouted out a location, met us the day after Christmas, and had our photos ready on DVD the very next day. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for high quality, basic family photos.
Brian shot our baby shower and did a wonderful job. We hosted the event in the back room of a restaurant which ended up being pretty tight but Brian managed to navigate the space and capture some really wonderful candid photos of our guests. He also took photos of my wife, dog and me at our home which we were also pleased with. I have used much more expensive photographers in the past and I would say that Brian's work stacked up well against any of them.
Sheila is not only a talented photographer but also very professional. She is very communicative and was a pleasure to work with. She was a joy to have around during the wedding day and was honestly a "fly on the wall" unlike other wedding photographers who are too "in it". The pictures she takes are beautiful and extremely well priced. I would not hesitate to work with her again. I actually look forward to it.
Jeff was smart, prepared, and professional. I selected him over other photographers because my impression was that he approached a job with the customer's needs at heart, and his work at our event certainly bore that out. He communicated well, was unobtrusive and helpful, and oh by the way he took some wonderful pictures of people engaged and working together at our event. You will enjoy working with Jeff, I promise.
We had our pre wedding photoshoot done by Diane and it was a great experience. We were visiting SF for a few days and were wondering if we will be able to capture the essence of the place in the photoshoot, but Diane drove us to the most beautiful places in the city and clicked lifelong memories. We had some pictures clicked with our friends as well and they came out really well. Diane was very flexible and it was fun spending the entire day with her. She made us really comfortable and helped us all along the photoshoot. I will highly recommend her to couples for their wedding and prewedding photoshoots.
I had a great experience with Daniel! He worked his magic on a property that needed some photographers-love and his turn around time was impeccable. Extremely satisfied with out our project turned out and will definitely be using his services again for other commercial real estate projects. Thanks again!
I highly recommend Martino for any event. My company hired Martino to photograph our VIP Tailgate for the Super Bowl and he did a wonderful job! He was extremely professional and required little direction to get the job done. I have worked with plenty of photographers in the past and Martino definitely earns 5 stars.
I highly recommend Patrick Power! I needed a professional portrait for a legal job application, and I hadn't had one taken in over 20 years. I wanted it to be professional, but also unique. I wasn't sure how to find a photographer, so I just put out a bid on thumbtack. Patrick responded very quickly and with a very reasonable price. I had resigned myself to just getting a studio portrait with a neutral background, but Patrick had the idea of meeting at City Hall to take the photo. I was very nervous and self-conscious about the process. I don't like having my picture taken and I am not very photogenic. It helped that City Hall was full of other photographers taking pictures of brides, grooms, and other people like me, so I didn't really stand out. I had a problem and ended up being pretty late to our meeting, but Patrick was very nice about it. I was sweating like crazy in my suit, but he did a good job of putting me at ease and letting me rest and cool down for a little bit white while he staked out spots to take the photo. He talked with me casually about what I was looking for in the photo, but we also made small talk about our lives and work, so that soon I felt very comfortable with him. As a result, I looked very natural in the photo. Patrick took a lot of shots, and several of them were quite good. I needed the work done on very short notice, including a print. I made the bid on a Sunday, we did the photo shoot on Monday, and I had the print by Tuesday morning. I love the photo, and my family and friends do too. Everyone agreed that not just my appearance, but also my personality comes through in the photo. I will definitely call Patrick again if I need another photo taken in the future!
If you’ve been waiting for “that one review” to really prove that Oaktown Boudoir is the way to go- don’t wait anymore! Cheshire Isaacs is a true exemplar of all that a professional boudoir photographer should strive to be. He is open and receptive to his client’s ideas without losing focus. He is honest and genuine without ever being insensitive. He is incredibly professional without ever being stuffy. The Bay Area is filled with Boudoir Photographers, so I guess the best way to write a proper review is to outline what exactly my own (popular) concerns were and how Cheshire proved triumphant! 1. Will I be comfortable? As a young woman, I was a little concerned about being erotically photographed by a man. Having been through a shoot, it’s obvious that Cheshire cares- from his personally designed music playlists (made in the interest of making the experience as comfortable as possible) to his handmade cheese and cracker platters. He continually went above and beyond for my session and I admire his passion, enthusiasm, and dedication. It shows in both his beautiful work and the long-lasting relationships he has with his clients. He spoke about his wife and daughter frequently, something that showed me his appreciation and respect for women, immediately putting me at ease. 2. Can his studio fit more than one “style” of photoshoot? Cheshire’s studio is open, bright, and filled with possibilities. He can transform the space to fit, I kid you not, any personality and style. In a matter of minutes (just enough time to refill a wine glass), his studio can go from a brightly lit angelic state to a dark, sexy, and sultry one. He mentioned having custom-designed the space alongside his wife, something that told me just how invested he was in the style and overall vibe of his studio. For my images in particular, I knew that I wanted little editing and wanted the images to be as “real” as possible. Somehow Cheshire still made it look like I was a model and knew exactly how to manipulate each pose to accentuate all the good and cleverly soften all the bad (without photoshop). 3. Will I get my money’s worth? Whichever amount of time you decide to book Cheshire for, know that not a minute will be wasted. He knows how to get down to business and not waste time while simultaneously not rushing through any poses. This guy was sweating as he climbed up and down ladders, moved heavy couches and bed sets, and adjusted lights. His hard work pays off in the beauty of his finished products! His experience in the field is obvious in the way he can quickly evaluate a pose and make small nuanced changes in position to get a desired look. I am but a poor college student and Cheshire’s prices were definitely better than most photographers around. He could easily charge three times as much for his services and would still be the deal of a lifetime. 4. Will my images be published? Cheshire was very thorough and attentive when listening to what I was comfortable with. He assured me that no images would be posted without explicit approval. In the end, his work was so beautiful that I would have been fine with it being printed on billboards and bus ads- really! 5. What about makeup? Cheshire notified me in one of our first correspondences that he had a partnership with a makeup artist, Thuy, who would be on-site for a small fee. Let me tell you- Thuy is more than simply a makeup artist- she really does it all. Not only did she do an absolutely spectacular job with my makeup, but she was the ultimate hype-woman!!! She stayed for nearly the entire session for touch-ups, glamour, and enthusiastic words of support. The experience wouldn’t have been the same without her. Every person that sees the finished images says, “Wow, I wish I’d done something like this.” Don’t be that person! Don’t wait another day, don’t look for another review, don’t google “Boudoir Photographer” again. Oaktown Boudoir is that good. Doing a boudoir shoot is obviously a large lump sum of money to dedicate to something that isn’t necessarily “necessary,” but my experience with Oaktown Boudoir is something that I will truly treasure for the rest of my life and always reflect on with a smile and a deep, deep appreciation for Cheshire Isaacs! He knows how to make a client feel like a friend, and that’s something you don’t come by often.
Steve Fogel was the main photographer at my wedding. He was timely and interested in the style of photos I was looking for. He was focused on getting shots with great framing and flattering lighting. Steve was easy to work with and really wanted to capture the moment. I have enjoyed looking back on the photos over and over. Thank you.
We hired Tri to do some commercial photography for our hotel project. Tri was very professional and willing to cater around our hectic schedule. From start to finish, Tri was extremely responsive in communication. We would definitely recommend Tri to any other business owners seeking professional commercial photography for their business!
Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but not knowing what the results are from the vendors you choose can bring the plans to a standstill. That's where I was before finding Jenn on thumbtack. When she replied to my photography request it was not the estimate that made up my mind; it was the fact that she answered my call! After the first two minutes speaking with her, I knew I found my photographer. Jenn was very upfront with what I could expect from her for the price she was offering. There was nothing that she didn't cover in terms of her contract, the deposit, and the final product. I liked Jenn from the very first moment I spoke with her. Every step of the way she worked with me either by telephone or email. I was fortunate enough that our schedules allowed for a site visit where we had the opportunity to meet in person prior to the big day. Jenn brought her camera and took some "test" shots that she posted on her blog. All I can say is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Now I was excited for the wedding day! September 3rd finally arrived and I am still bragging to anyone willing to listen about my awesome photographers. Jenn and Shannon were truly a dream to work with. They are super relaxed and not worried about the "perfect picture" but photographing the perfect moment. Jenn and Shannon let my hubby and I call all the shots as far as who and where. Our families were a bit difficult to gather at times, and I worried this could irritate the photographers; not Jenn and Shannon! They made sure that we did not miss our sunset photos and always asked our thoughts on their creative visions. Every once in awhile, Jenn would give me a sneak peek at an amazing shot she just captured! I loved that about her. Anyone thinking of hiring Kept in Time Photography by Jenn & Shannon Mormon will not be disappointed. Their photos are stunning and they are two of the nicest people to work with. I am more than satisfied with the entire experience and will be using them for all future photography needs. Highly recommended by a very happy Bride!!
I hired Nicholas to film my Hindu wedding on a Sunday morning at Livermore two months ago. He was punctual and professional, ready with all his equipment in tow. Since there's no rehearsal for a Hindu wedding, I myself wasn't sure where he needs to stand or even go, but Nicholas was able to figure it out once in the event hall. After two weeks, we received the hard drive that held all the raw, unedited footage which is what I wanted and downloaded it onto our external drive. This took awhile for my husband and I to do, but Nicholas was extremely patient with us and reassured me it was okay to take our time. Once every clip was downloaded, my husband and I watched the unedited footage and relived our wedding day through Nicholas' eyes and filming, and it brings tears to our eyes to see the close-up of our expressions, the traditional clothing we wore, and marriage items on the stage. Nicholas also surprised us with still photos of our day even if he wasn't our paid photographer. In addition, the email and texting communication between Nicholas from start to end was prompt, and he was enthusiastic about filming his first Hindu wedding. I am also grateful that Nicholas worked within our budget and stayed the entire day from 9-2pm; he works for the passion of filming, and the money is secondary and I appreciated that commitment. He simply wants everything to be perfect for the bride and groom, and stress-free which it was. I would highly recommend future customers to hire Nicholas to film their special milestones in their lives.
I needed some head shots for my new website featuring my latest music. Scott recommend a spot for outdoor pictures incorporating an urban feel. Never would have thought use such a simple but clever cityscape backdrop. Not only does he have a great eye and creative idea's but also top end equipment. I've used other photographers before with half the results. If your looking for a pro he's your guy.......
Thank you Avant-Garde for capturing the most important parts of our event!!! Not only was our engagement beautifully photographed, the little details that most photographers leave out were not missed. His pricing is very fair and affordable. I have him booked for my upcoming wedding in May as well.
Eli was excellent to work with and a very talented and professional photographer.
Very high quality work! Kavya did a great job for our pre-wedding photoshoot. We shot at 2 locations in the golden hours (morning and evening). She helped us in choosing the locations and outfits, and brought some cool props as well! She was very prompt in replying to our queries, and gave us the final photographs in a timely way. The photos looked awesome. We used them at many places in our wedding (even had some put up poster-size at the venue!)
Flor is a really talented photographer and was incredible easy to work with! Very responsive, also.
I was going to engage my girlfriend and being new in San Francisco I had no idea of where to find the perfect nature location. I asked Rob to do photography for me and he suggested the Perfect location for our big day and moment. The level of professionalism and patience he showed were out of this world. I will recommend him to anyone who requires a photographer. Thank you so much Rawkboy Media.
