Ruby blew our daughter's 1st birthday out of the water. We had a fall themed birthday with the cutest decor and desserts to match. I would 100% work with her again on future events. She's detailed oriented and really brought our theme to life. Thank you so much Ruby & team!

Ruby is a kind and considerate professional who on top of courtesy is creative and dedicated. She co-develops her clients ideas so they can focus on their celebration. I've been watching her work for years and got a chance to work with her directly at a 50th Wedding Anniversary and saw her creativity, kind collaboration and dedication first-hand. I cannot say enough about the amazing job Ruby did with my son's Bar Mitzvah. I felt like she's known us forever, because she perfectly understood my family's sensibilities, designed an event that was nicer than we could or would have put on ourselves, but not so upscale or gaudy that we couldn't recognize ourselves in it. Absolutely pitch perfect for us. The other thing I would say about Ruby is that like great events people I've seen in action, she was both everywhere at once and invisible. Whenever something needed to be handled, she was on it, even before it became an issue. But she was never in the middle, never in the wrong place, and always doing exactly the right thing with zero guidance from me. Absolute professionalism. Lastly, she found a great caterer, got some great baked items, and did flower arrangements herself for every table that were both beautiful and practical (on a windy day, outdoors). She correctly assessed the level of involvement I needed in the process and acted accordingly. Absolute responsiveness. I am not an events person or natural party planner, but I like a good party and as a senior executive I know good work when I see it. I am very grateful to Ruby and can only say that if you need a person to plan an event and execute on it perfectly, you won't go wrong here.

Our experience with Ruby as an event planner was very disappointing. From the beginning, she was unreliable and unresponsive. Communication was a significant issue, as she often took days to reply to our messages and calls, leaving us feeling uncertain and stressed. Ruby was also not very helpful in finding vendors. We ended up having to do all the work ourselves, which defeated the purpose of hiring an event planner. Her lack of initiative and assistance in this crucial area was incredibly frustrating. Additionally, the prices she quoted for decoration and rentals were extremely inflated. What started as a reasonable estimate turned out to be more than four times higher than what other decorators and rental companies were offering. This discrepancy was unacceptable and felt dishonest. Overall, our experience with Ruby was very poor. Her lack of reliability, responsiveness, and fairness in pricing made our event planning process much more difficult and stressful than it should have been. I wouldn’t recommend her services to anyone. UPDATE: Thank you for your response. While I understand the challenges you faced, it’s important to address the ongoing issues that affected our collaboration. From the outset, reliability was a significant concern. You were consistently late, including to our initial meeting, and communication remained sporadic throughout. Each delay was accompanied by different explanations, which added to the uncertainty and frustration we experienced. Moreover, one of the fundamental expectations in hiring an event planner is budget management, including fair pricing for services and items. It was concerning that the pricing you provided, particularly on a per-item basis, was significantly inflated compared to industry standards. For example, quoting $500 for signs when similar items are typically priced much lower elsewhere raised serious questions about fairness and transparency in your pricing practices. This has nothing to do with number of guests increasing. Additionally, as an event planner, it is critical to inspire confidence through reliability, punctuality, and excellent proactive communication. Unfortunately, these qualities were lacking throughout our collaboration, which further complicated the planning process and contributed to our overall dissatisfaction.

Thank you for your response. I apologize for my tardiness to our one in-person meeting and for any delay in communication. I would like to address the pricing details you mentioned above. Upon reviewing my profile, you will notice that my entrance signs are always personalized and not simply printed and mounted. The entrance sign proposed was intended to be a bespoke and unique display adorned in fresh florals and lanterns. As outlined in my proposal, the price mentioned also covered the following items: Customized entrance sign & floral Beverage tags Menu/ Food labels Directional signage Buffet fans Usually, I provide comprehensive decor packages and avoid itemized pricing to prevent this sort of confusion, which also allows me the creative freedom to add personalized decorative touches and surprises for my clients to take in on the day of their celebration. In this case, I offered the detailed breakdown as a courtesy so that you had the opportunity to customize the proposal according to your budget. However, I now realize the importance of sticking to my established business practices that have proven successful with my previous clients.
