FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in high tech materials mangement. I was laid off 5 times in 12 years. I started getting into real estate investing. In 2004 and 2005, investing started getting harder because there were loans that didn't make sense and equity started dropping. I started looking at short sales when buying real estate. It became a requirement to have a license to negotiate short sales so I got my license. They added other legal requirements to processing short sales so I got my Broker License and became an Independent Real Estate Broker. I am unique in the real estat market as I believe the home buyer or seller should understand what they are doing and spend time educating each of my clients before we move forward. They have to understand what I'm talking about so we can work to their best interest, not mine. It's more important that they understand than that I make a commission.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you interview the agent you are thinking of working with. It's more important that they understand their role as a consutlant and educator for you. Their job is to help facilitate the sale of your home. It's your home and your decision. You need to know what your decisions mean.
