FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally this is a sliding scale. $100 an hour and I am willing to talk about other pricing for hardship reasons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every situation provides a unique set of issues and realities. I act as a bridge between you and the clarity you need for a particular situation. I create movement in water that has no flow. I help you find ways to deeply let go of that which is standing in your way. It might be an old way of thinking, a trauma or pure stubbornness. I help shake the tree and get the blood moving. I do this through listening, gathering information and creatively finding solutions that reflect you. I draw from the traditions of meditation, systems theory, integrative health, somatic phycology and creative expression. I am as likely to recommend an Oprah Book Club selection as I am Die Hard 3 if I think it will help get a point across. I am irreverent and respectful. The point is you. Getting a sense of you. Your story, your path and your spark. I function as a personal concierge, making suggestions that might shift your view so you see something new. I can be the person you call to get clarity before a business meeting, or the one who stands next to you while you bungee jump off a bridge. I help you shine.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from Northwestern University and many years as a professional actor, director and producer. This work requires creative thinking and a willingness to see things dynamically. A background in the arts is a powerful resource I draw from to do this. I have an MA in Buddhist Studies from Naropa University. I spent 18 years working as a spiritual counselor in hospitals and hospice, specializing in pediatric end of life care, medical ethics and advance care planning. I am the first Tibetan Buddhist practitioner to be Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains. I am an ordained Buddhist Chaplain and a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Instructor. I have also run bereavement programs and 3 week and 10 week bereavement groups. I am trained in Palliative Care and have sat on many Medical Ethics Boards. Also for 6 years I was the Section Leader for the Spiritual Caregiving Section of the National Counsel for Hospice and Palliative Care Professionals.
