Introduction: My service stands out because I love what I do and I love helping people! I am very passionate about dance, yoga and teaching. Right now during our current circumstances all my classes and private lessons are on Zoom. I am offering 2 gentle Yoga classes a week on Wednesdays and Sundays at 10:00am-11:00am PST and Private sessions for Ballet and Yoga. I really care about people and want to help make a difference in their life. I take a lot of time and care to see what my clients and students need, and because I have such a diverse background of movement studies, I can really give them more than just a yoga session, or more than just a dance class. My unique approach to teaching combines a high standard of experience and technique along with a holistic view point which embraces the whole person. When I teach dance I love to see people become more confident and happy with themselves as they become more skilled in their dance training as well as seeing them have fun and experience more joy as they become a better dancer. When I teach yoga, I enjoy helping people feel better physically and emotionally. As they become more flexible and less stressed and I see the changes in their body, it makes me happy to see the impact it has having on them. I see them relieved of pain and symptoms and have a better quality of life.

Private Dance Lessons

Mindy is a wonderful teacher! I have recently started taking private ballet lessons from her, and I have already gained so much valuable knowledge. The lessons are tailored to my personal experience and skill set. I am never overwhelmed with things beyond my reach, yet I still feel challenged and compelled to succeed and excel! Additionally, Mindy fosters a warm, friendly environment of learning. I've never felt intimidated or embarrassed to learn ballet with her, despite coming in with zero experience! Amazing teacher and would highly recommend!

Private Dance Lessons

Ms. Krasner was an absolute joy to work with! My daughter loved the attention to detail and personalized program Ms. Krasner provided. She was always very accommodating. When my daughter told her she needed help with something, Ms. Krasner had a plan ready for her at their next meeting. She was always kind, patient, and positive when she gave corrections. She gave my daughter so many great tips for improving her technique, strength, and stamina. My daughter was always happy (and tired) after every session. We look forward to working with Ms. Krasner again! It was great to see how much she grew as a dancer in just a few sessions! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!

Wedding Dance Lessons

My now-husband and I used Mindy to choreograph our first dance. She was really great to work with. She was very collaborative, helping us select our first song and she was very accommodating of our skills and even adjusted the dance to suit us better during our meetings. She knew I was really nervous and was really sweet and encouraging. The dance she choreographed for us was really great. It allowed us to show personality but was not overly complicated. We had a really great time doing it and we received a ton of compliments at our wedding for how great it came out. We absolutely recommend Mindy!! If I can think of a reason to need another dance some day, I will definitely go to her!!! :-)

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually talk with them on the phone first to find out if they have any injuries and what they hope to gain from working with me. The first session is me getting to know their body and seeing where their strengths and weaknesses are. By the end of the first session I know exactly how I'm going to work with them and what I'm going to focus on.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started my ballet dance training when I was 7 years old in New York and became a professional ballet dancer at the age of 17. I danced professionally in major ballet companies for 10 years in the United States and Europe and toured internationally. After that I travelled to India, where I trained to be a Hatha Yoga instructor. When I returned to the U.S. I continued my yoga training while I was teaching, as well as continued to expand my dance teacher training. I took teacher training courses in Creative Dance for all ages with Anne Gilbert in Seattle and took many courses in the Somatics, Laban Bartenieff Movement Studies, Feldenkreis, etc. I later became a certified BeMoved instructor, which is a low impact dance fitness class for adults. I also experienced a lot of injuries as a ballet dancer so I had a lot of physical therapy. I use many things I've learned from healing my own injuries to help my clients.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started dancing when I was 7 years old. My mother took me to a recital at a local school and the minute the dancers came out on stage I stood up from my seat and remained standing for the rest of the performance. I became a professional dancer when I was 17 and when I was about 23 I noticed that I had a good eye for correcting dancers. I also was a good communicator and it came naturally for me to give someone a correction in a positive way that made them feel excited about applying what I said. I realized I was a natural teacher. Later in my 20's I started getting interested in yoga. It made me feel more peaceful and I started to understand my body in a different way and the postures helped me with my dancing. I later decided to become a yoga instructor as well as a dance teacher.
