Professional, on time. John is tutoring my 10 year old son in math, specifically, common core math. John is very patient which is what my son needs. I try to help him but I lose my patience which frustrates both of us. I am glad John is able to help and I hope my son will improve his math skills. John has tutored Christopher twice only so I hope this review is helpful. So far, I would recommend John.
John helped me raise my GRE score significantly. Working with John helped me gain the skills and tools I needed to reach (just above) my goal score. We studied the content of the GRE but also strategies for approaching problems likely to be found on the GRE, which proved invaluable. John was patient and encouraging throughout our tutoring and always gave me the extra confidence I needed to help me get through tough problems. It’s nice to have someone cheering you on when you’re trying to achieve a score that might seem hard or unachievable. John made the process of studying for the GRE as painless and fun as possible!
My daughter worked with Mathman Tutoring when she was in high school. She found his tutoring to be very helpful in understanding concepts that she hadn't quite gotten in class. It was very convenient to have him come to our house. I would recommend his services to my friends.
Anish did a great job in helping me learn Math by properly giving me the instruction and practice I needed. I saw results soon after our tutoring sessions!
BEST. ACT. TUTOR. EVER.
Pio is very good at catering the lesson to my needs - where I am at in the learning curve, and helping fill in any gaps in my knowledge of mathematics. He also helps create a plan and gives homework to accomplish my goal.
Josh was an awesome SAT tutor for my son, increasing his scores 110 points in just a few weeks of tutoring. Prior to Josh, my son was enrolled in a commercial SAT prep course: 3 hours on Friday evenings and six hours on Saturdays along with 11 other students. My son did not respond well to the group setting. These sessions could not hold his attention, and it became a weekly battle to get him to go. After a few weeks, he quit the course and decided that individual tutoring would be a better option. Joshs style of personalized attention offered my son the back and forth interaction he needed to maintain interest and motivation. He had a great depth of knowledge (Yale graduate), as well as a warm and personal demeanor. He took the time to understand my sons individual style of learning and identified the areas with which he needed more assistance. In summary, my son benefitted greatly from Joshs talents, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing one-on-one and personalized attention.
Katrina helped me improve my ACT English score from a 30 to a 34 and my ACT science from a 30 to a 33! In only 3.5 hours of tutoring! She is a wonderful tutor!
When Ellie Schamber tutored my son before he took the PSAT, he got the highest score in his high school, became a National Merit Scholar, and was offered all kinds of scholarships. Getting a good score on the PSAT is almost more important than the SAT. She also spent several hours with him before he took the SAT - he received a Regent's Scholarship to UC and graduated with high honors. Ellie tailors her tutoring to the student's individual needs and she is extremely effective. I highly and unequivocally recommend her.
I would not hesitate to recommend Arbor Tutors to all of my friends and family. I wish we would've started with them in the beginning. Very good service with excellent tutors.
Aanchal was a great SAT tutor and I had a really great experience working with her! She created a customized study plan that helped me reach my target score and then coached me through the college admissions process, which helped me get accepted to Cornell University.
Working with Ryan has been, and continues to be, an excellent experience. Not only is he knowledgeable in everything he teaches, but he’s also flexible with scheduling and valuable mentor in multiple subject matters. Great tutor overall!
Dan is a great math tutor. He is patient and knowledgeable. He leads you to the solution but does not tell you the solution. He makes you figure it out by encouraging your own abilities to problem solve. I received tutoring for the CSET Math test and I was very impressed with Dan.
Clint helped both of our children with their math courses from grade school through high school. Clint is very patient, caring, and able to identify each students learning style. He is flexible, professional, and effective. Clint is familiar with each school's teachers and requirements. Both of my children performed better on exams and were better prepared for the next course level because of his tutoring.
Ben is great at explaining concepts in simple terms and using examples to reinforce mastery. Super patient as well!

Lailas appreciation and passion for learning and teaching came at an early age. Teaching Saturday playschool activities at the age of 12, she had her first TA position at her British Secondary school by 15, and began teaching English and Math through cartooning at 18. She is also academically excelled in that she began programming at 11, studied artificial intelligence at 16, 10 GCSEs, 4 A Levels. A very extensive BA and double Masters (which she completed simultaneously in 2.5yrs with a GPA of 3.93) which are MBA in marketing and management and an MIT in Applications development, and several certifications. Currently she tutors and teaches over 63 subjects, high-stakes standardized tests and study skills. Her secret is her aggressive desire to learn and having a highly skilled memory system does provide a great tool. She uses visual cues, technological mediums and traditional learning methods in order to provide the best possible results. She works with students from K-12, undergrad, and grad, from different learning curves including those with ADD and dyslexia. I truly do believe that education is a vehicle to pursue success. I enjoy teaching and facilitating the learning process. There is something amazing that happens when you watch a student learn and achieve understanding and in turn reach a higher grade or pursue further education. I am young, well educated in a variety of subjects. I do research on topics prior to meeting with students and I have both online, one-on-one and group tutoring/ teaching experience. I make teaching an understanding not just -'you need to learn this because you have to'. I try my best to find how you can best learn and apply those methods that suit you. Everyone is different and deserves to learn the way that they can achieve the most out of and to excel. I like to think of myself as well rounded and having worn many different hats to teach myself to become as versatile and knowledgeable in as many areas as I could. This I have practiced in my professional career as a brand specialist and as a tutor. I have pursued an extensive degree in undergrad, 2 masters and several certifications as well as a 20 year history as a tutor.
