FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work most with high school students seeking help in math and/or science. I also do extensive work in the spring and summer with students preparing to take (or re-take) the SAT and/or ACT. I work with students in their homes and have developed great relationships and serve as a resource to their families as they decide on which classes to take, which colleges to apply to, and how best to deal with challenges that may affect their academic success.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice is to meet the person first or at the very least have a conversation with him/her by phone. This way you'll get a sense of the tutors' personality and their philosophy for student learning. So much of this business is more about a student's ability to connect to their tutor's personality and style than whether or not the tutor is knowledgeable. Be clear that the first session is to determine if there is a match with regard to your child feeling that he/she can learn from the tutor's style and take the time to get your child's opinion of how they felt the session went.
