Introduction: The process of bringing an old and forgotten piece of solid wood, antique, furniture back to life. I especially enjoy seeing the expressions on the customer's faces from overjoyment to tears when seeing their special piece having been brought back to life.

I have TWO toy boxes from ToyBoxWorkshop.com First- one for my son! And now another for my baby girl! My son's custom made toy box- or as we call it- his treasure chest looks like it came straight of the the Pirates of the Caribbean movie set! It is incredible! Real leather straps and buckles to seal it shut. My son's name is on the inside of the lid with crossbones and a pirate skull. Very cool! The wood work is absolutely beautiful and the color of the wood with the wood grain gives it such a cool weathered yet new look all at the same time!!! My daughter's is a hope chest toy box. It is gorgeous! It is lined with cedar on the inside and the attention to detail is unmatched!!! It's adorned with a beautiful musical-like ornament on the top. So simple and elegant. I LOVE these toy chests! They are even designed to protect little fingers from getting hurt if the lid closes! Highly highly recommend Toy Box Workshop! Quality is unmatched! EXCELLENT!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Refinish and restore antique wood furniture. Each project is lovingly cared for during its revitalization process to insure its integrity, preserve its value and memories; and give the owner many more years to treasure the unique quality and craftsmanship of the piece. I am proficient with veneers, matching stain colors and repairing harshly damaged woods from water stains, cigarette burns, broken legs, wood warpage, etc. Reference: Toy Box Workshop.com

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Furniture that was originally made 85 years or more ago is special in its own right because much of the work was done by craftsman using hand tools and hardwoods from forests that no longer exist. The essence should be on preserving the piece's original integrity and renewing it back to original state. This process takes much experience and many hours of careful, meticulous labor to achieve. Therefore, one should value the historical importance and personal memories the piece imparts ahead of the cost.
