- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard fee is $40 per lesson with an additional travel fee. For two family members in the same household, it's $40 for the first and $30 for the second.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I find out what inspired you to learn to play piano and ask about specific goals you aspire to. If a student has already had lessons, I ask them to play something of their choice for me. For beginners, I give the basics of posture at the piano, proper hand and finger position, plus a demonstration of how to play with strength without fatigue. Of course, if I am hired, the proper technics will be part of the ongoing training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken lessons all my life and majored in piano in college. I also took pedagogy classes and often attend workshops to further my my teaching skills. I have a depth of understanding from 20+ years teaching public school music.
