I think there are 3 things that stand out about me...
First, is my ability to quickly and deeply build a relationship with couples.
I think, if you read my reviews, you pick up on this idea. I love people and love the role I get to play in couples lives and I'm good at it. I connect with people well. I make them feel at ease, as if we've been friends for a long time.
Second, I have spent the last two decades on a stage in one way or another. Aside from being a pastor and speaker, I'm also musician and singer. I've done over a thousand events for churches, camps, conferences, the US military and various for-profit and non-profit organizations. I have performed for small gatherings to 10's of thousands at the Rose Bowl. I say this simply to say, I am very comfortable in front of people. The kind of comfortability you want in an officiant can only come with extensive experience.
Lastly, I know how to create moments. Whether you want something funny or meaningful or spiritual or touching or all of the above, my aim is to take you and your guests on a journey in your service. This is a journey that celebrates you and your love for each other. On the biggest day of your life, that story should be told well.
I love connecting with couples.
I love weddings and what they represent.
I love helping to create moments that people will remember for the rest of their lives.
Here's what happens when I meet most couples:
They walk in nervous. (Which I totally understand because hiring the right officiant really matters...the officiant/pastor role shapes so much of what the day will feel like.) The moment I love comes about 10 or 15min into our meeting. They take a breath. Their shoulders and faces relax. Often times I see her put her hand on his and they realize, their day is gonna happen just like they want it to. Building trust with people in that way is a thrill for me. I know I will do a good job and they will love it, but the moment they realize it, that is a special moment.
Beyond this...standing with people on their wedding day is such an honor. Like I said, I love creating moments. I often hear from people that attend the weddings I perform that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. That is humbling and exciting for me.
Theres so much more I could say, but I'll end with this. Weddings are incredible experiences, but Marriage is where its really at. At the end of the day, weddings are just the celebration of the start to a relational adventure. That adventure, like any adventure, takes preparation. The prep for Marriage is pre-marital counseling. I love helping couples prepare well for the greatest adventure of their lives.
