The 4th wall refers to a film & tv term that separates the “real world” from the actors on screen. I’ve always been behind the camera producing incredible designers on popular design and build shows with HGTV, Netflix, DIY & TLC. After years of watching the pros do it, I decided to gather all the tips & tricks from TV and apply it to build my own design business. I've worked alongside some of the best designers in the business; Nate Berkus, Jeremiah Brent, The Property Brothers & many more. When you shoot a design show that needs to be completed in 2 days (like TLC’s show, Trading Spaces) or you need help styling your home to bring a cohesive style throughout each space (like HGTV’s show “Big Texas Fix”), it may seem impossible to achieve what we see at the end of an episode during the big reveal, but I’m here to tell you that YOU CAN DO IT! With years of experience working with a variety of budgets, I know the importance of creating a luxurious space & making every dollar count. Whether incorporating a high end statement piece or the addition of a vintage find, I believe that it is not what you spend that gives your home style it is how you layer your space together. I think most would agree that the rooms in your home should be comforting and soothing to you; an oasis of sorts from the stress of the outside world. I work with you to find the perfect blend of cozy, chic style and functionality. Whether it's a small powder room refresh or an entire home revamp, I can help you love your home again.

I found Michelle through recommendations of friends and I’m so happy I called her! She works as a TV producer for all my favorite design shows and it was pretty cool to work with someone who shared all the tricks she uses on TV. I moved into my LA apartment and had a mix of items I’ve owned for years, but wanted to put a mid-century modern look together. The Covid-19 restrictions kept me from shopping at my favorite stores, so I really needed help with online shopping. I didn’t know where to start and was super overwhelmed with the thousands of options. Michelle worked with me remotely and listened to what my dream bedroom and living room would look like. She sent me amazing mood boards and nailed my Instagram inspiration ideas! She put everything into a detailed excel sheet for me to move forward with ordering. It was SO easy and I was able to place my order and have everything delivered within a week. Michelle even came over (with her fabulous mask) and helped me space plan and and decorate each space. She was so much fun to work with and worked with my budget. I love my mid-century modern home and I have Michelle to thank for making it all work.

4th Wall Design and Style breathes new life into a space! We needed some serious help with two rooms in our home. The home office and our bonus room had no style, no organization and just made no sense. These two rooms were the most used and least functional in our entire home. I hired Michelle to help me when I first moved into our home. I had a handful of pieces I wanted to keep, but hated the layout and didn’t know where to start. Michelle worked with our tight budget and helped us with the main living room, master bedroom and our baby’s room. She worked every piece I wanted into the design and made each room feel special. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free consultation meeting with you to discuss your project. We chat for about an hour about what your goals and vision are for each space. From here, I create a mood/design board for you. I research paint colors, furniture pieces and overall look for the room. I charge an hourly fee of $125. I will also put together a scope cost for each space and divide the timeline into phases (space planning, painting, shopping & install). I'll provide an estimate of how many hours I believe it will take to complete your project so you can see a price upfront. All charges related to shipping, delivery & freight are covered by the client.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Not everyone can clearly define what their personal "style" actually is when it comes to interior design. That's ok! We work together and create what feels best for you. Your home should be a literal sanctuary- not a place to avoid or feel overwhelmed about. I believe that it is not what you spend that gives your home style it is how you layer your space together. After we find your personal style, we chat about any pieces you want to incorporate into the space. Your home should tell a story about who you are and what you love. From here, we can move forward with design boards and scheudlieng phases of your project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always loved design since I was a little girl. moving my bed to the other side of my room and painting a wall was a big deal to me! I've always been the "go to friend" for decorating and styling spaces and I decided to take this into my career as a TV producer. Directing design & build shows for HGTV, DIY, Netflix and TLC, has been an amazing, wild ride & I've been blessed to work with the best pros in the business. Although I do not hold a professional degree, many years of working along side seasoned designers has been invaluable to my craft. I also can STAGE your home. My craft in TV production is LITERAL STAGING!
