When our original Interior Designer experienced a lengthy family emergency, I was left in the middle of a huge renovation completely overwhelmed. The project was already over due and over budget. My contractor needed decisions from me yesterday. Victoria, with Sound of Home has been God sent. She was able to meet with me define, create and organize within days. The quality of her work and the professionalism with which she conducts herself is unsurpassed and by far the best I've experienced. I have a lot of my own ideas and unique pieces I had hoped to use in the redesign of our home. I am extremely grateful for Victoria's keen eye and vision for what will serve us well and what may be better used elsewhere. We had a couple layout choices but were having hard time deciding one that would fit our family. Victoria helped us out to choose the best design. She also modified and created the 3D design along with the lighting design that made the project easier as our contractor can see what we wanted. The best part is that she understood what we needed and what we had, she would work with what we have. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The first 30-minute teleconference is free. The first 40-minute site visit, in which I will answer any question you may have, comes with an $80 fee, which will be waived if I am engaged in any of the below service. - Consulting service: I can help sharpen/adjust your own plan and answer any questions about styles, furnitures, materials, colors, sourcing, styling, and construction management. The rate is $95/hour. - Basic design package: I charge a flat fee to help you define a concept, create layouts and 3D visuals, and finalize a shopping list. - Project management service: Client may ask for additional assistance in project management, including sourcing furnitures, managing deliveries, introducing contractors, supervising installation, at an additional fee of 7.5% of the total budget. - Comprehensive design and project management service: This service includes all of the above: consulting, design, and project management. The fee is normally 15% of the total budget. I also offer online interior design service at $225/room (single purpose, 400 sq ft or less.) More information can be found on my website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?When a potential client calls me, I collect information about the project: the situation, the potential scope of work, and the client's requirements. Therefore, when we meet in person, I am prepared and ready to help. I hope, you are ready to work with me, too. We can get right to work and learn more about each other in the process. We will start from defining the needs, scope, styles, and objectives. I believe that trust must be built from both sides. If we then decide to sign a contract, we already have a solid understanding and expectation from each other. Things can only get better from there.
