FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Definitely talk to the proprietor in person. There is a tendency to hide behind e-mail and telephones, but meeting your prospective web guru in person will help you make a better judgement. Also, REQUIRE at least a half dozen recent sites and request that you talk to the site owner. The more successful web sites they've created, the more likely they'll be able to complete what you need. Don't be too worried if they haven't worked in your industry before - oftentimes designers enjoy a new challenge and can surprise you with their results. Do make sure they are capable of handling the technology you need on your site. The first time for web geeks with a new technology is always bumpy. If it's their first time, just understand they may not be as quick as you're expecting. Also - hammer them to a firm price. BUT UNDERSTAND - by doing so, you are hammering yourself to a firm set of expectations. Don't expect to be able to make a lot of changes within that initial estimate.
