Arrival of the photobooth was on time and also pretty easy to use. No bulky equipment so it wasn't an eyesore in the area we had it in. People seemed to enjoy it and there were so many props for my wedding guests to use which was great. The price was pretty affordable as well which is what my fiancé (now husband) and I wanted since we were on a tight wedding budget.

Tom did an outstanding job with our wedding photography. He went above and beyond my expectations (and I'm picky!) He seemed so detailed and precise, I loved it! Very personable person too. He was such a pleasure to work with! I'm looking forward to seeing how our photos turned out! Thank you Tom!

Will Hartman was amazing! Will and his wife, Michelle, designed my wedding photo booth template and it was beautiful. Will arrived early, set up everything and was wonderful during his entire time at my wedding. I couldn't have hired a better professional. The photo booth I had was the LED inflatable backdrop and it turned out great in pictures. The props were also fantastic. I feel like they really go above and beyond to do the best job and I am so grateful they did my wedding. Thanks so much for the wonderful job and for the scrapbook. It really was a lot of fun for everyone there and the moments you captured were priceless. I highly recommend hiring Desert Rose Photography for your wedding or other special event. They were perfect at my wedding!

Richard's wedding photography is very unique and it is for this very reason that I chose him to be our wedding photographer. He brings something to pictures that nobody else does : feeling. I got a physical response from looking at his pictures and I knew he was the right choice for us. We have so many amazing pictures from our wedding that we are having trouble choosing which ones we want to frame!

We hired Joe as our Wedding Photographer this past may. We didn't start looking for a photographer til about 3 weeks before the event. But Joe did an amazing job for being given such short notice. He and his assistants were very professional. From what we'very seen from the proofing gallery, all of the pictures are beautiful.

I recommend Danielle very highly. My husband and I did an engagement photoshoot last night. Danielle was on time, very fun and adventurous for creative pictures, puts you at ease, she loves what she does and that makes it great because you know the work will be good. We had a sunset shoot and it was perfect! She knew where to go, how to pose and also was open for more ideas if we wanted. We were there before the sunset so had fun before during and after it. We cannot wait to see all the photos! Thank you Danielle :) PS: she will be our wedding photographer as well.

I cannot say enough good things about Jessica and 3 Little Birds Event Planning! She is an absolute master at what she does!! She offers complete, 1 month, and day-of wedding planning, as well as all sorts of event planning, i.e. baby showers, parties, etc. I went with "Day-Of" and Jessica went above and beyond, helping with various steps in my planning process. She was always easy to reach and responded promptly with any and all questions that I had. She constructed the wedding timeline and offered dozens of suggestions to make our day truly special and perfect. 3 Little Birds also offers party rentals at very competitive prices, including a client discount! Needless to say, I ended up renting what I needed from them. Jessica and Dustin did such a fantastic job! Our venue decor was perfectly set-up, with every detail carefully though out. They made our day run smoothly and practically stress-free. Jessica was there every step of the way and took care of any issues as they arose. She made sure all formalities were done as we wanted them, directed our wedding photographer, attended to us personally, made sure our vendors were paid and tipped, and even stayed around afterwards to help break down the rentals. All in all, our wedding was pure magic and it was all thanks to Jessica, Dustin, and 3 Little Birds Event Planning. I will be recommending them to all of my friends and family for all future events.

This review is a long time overdue!! My husband and I hired Sean Te as our videographer for our wedding in April and he was great! When he sent us a link to the video trailer after the wedding, we viewed it and we knew the full length video was going to be beyond expectations. He turned our wedding into a movie! I could not ask for a better experoence. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him!

Rand filmed our wedding on August 9th and did a great job! He and his co-videographer, Jason, arrived on time and got to work right away. They were able to film items such as my dress and wedding items in the other room and didn't need direction, which is very useful on a busy morning such as a wedding! When we were ready for them to film more specific details though, they took direction and followed accordingly which was perfect! They brought just the right amount of equipment and knew how to use it. They wedding video was beautiful and was finished very quickly so we were able to share it with our family and friends right away. I highly recommend Rand to any of my friends or for my future events! Thanks- Whitney & Vincent

I found Natalie on Thumbtack. I was looking for an affordable but professional photographer for my wedding day and that's exactly what I got. I am so glad that I chose her. She was so sweet and professional. She did a consultation with us before the wedding and we went through a list of moments and things that I wanted her to capture specifically. I am very happy with the end result. The pictures came out beautifully. I especially like the way that she ushers the effect of natural sunlight. She did a beautiful job capturing our special day! I would definitely recommend Natalie!

Can’t say enough great things about Beth and her work. She did the photography for my wedding and has done yearly photos for my family now that we have kids. Her style is more relaxed and natural than other photographers which is why we kept going back. My family and I highly recommend Beth!

We hired Mark to be our videographer for our April 10 wedding. Mark has always been very responsive to my messages and questions. He provided us with great detail of his services and what he would be doing. When the time came to film our wedding he was very prompt and easy to work with. We felt very comfortable working with him and he faded in nicely working with the photographer. He caputered all the details of our wedding very well. We got our highlight and raw footage video very quickly after the wedding. When it was time to watch the highlight video we thought the night was put together beautifully. The way it all flowed together with our choice of music and the different highlighted points of our special day was amazing! It was very beautifully done! A tear jerker too :). I would highly recommend Mark to be your videographer at your wedding. You most definitely won't be disappointed.

Corey was so amazing at our wedding reception, our family all noted how impressive he was. Anytime something happened that was cute, or photo worthy we would look over and he was already there capturing it. We are so overjoyed to have picked him for our event. Thank you so much!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
