I have been in the food industry for 20 years and I started this company because I love making people happy by providing them with the best food and the best ingredients in competitive prices. Kitchenina was absolutely fantastic for the 50th birthday party. After our original caterer had to back out close to the event, I was worried on finding someone with the highest quality on short notice. My worries were put to rest quickly as the responsiveness from Kitchenina was in no time at all. Within a very short period of time we were able to pick an amazing menu that was phenomenal. In fact, even though the party was being organized around Thanksgiving Break I was in constant contact from the ownership who was on vacation in Greece. To say there are both a unique and broad variety of menu items is a total understatement. The comments from the guests on everything from the Spanakopita to the Salad to the Salmon with Mediterranean Lobster Sauce kept coming in at the party. The time that the folks at Kitchenina spent with me on organizing the menu, setting up the house, preparing the food and serving the food was all at the highest level. I would absolutely recommend Kitchenina for any event, and we certainly will be having Kitchenina as our caterer moving forward. 10 out of 10.

Working with Aliki was amazing! So professional and calming when I was panicking about a relatively last minute request during holiday season. She skillfully guided me carefully through the process.
Quote process was so easy, menu selection vast and included a variety of options. Quote was straight forward, no extra expenses. I felt very well taken care of!
Day of, team was ready and so helpful in setting up. Team worked efficiently and courteously. Of course though, the food was amazing - guests were raving about all three entrees (tri-tip, teriyaki chicken, and pad thai tofu).

We had Kitchenina cater our small wedding this past Sunday (June 21), they were great! Our original wedding plans had to dramatically change, and Aliki (Head of Services) was super supportive of our rather last minute (in my mind) ask for catering! She quoted me with two sample menus and we talked briefly on the phone, where we discussed some alterations and within the next day we were set! Everything was squared away quickly and I was able to pay the deposit online which we really liked for convenience. Seriously reasonable pricing for servicing 20 people with a couple weeks notice. The server was COVID-19 conscious (masks, gloves, distancing, etc) and very respectful of my guests comfort level with all the distancing (some guests were more serious than others). The food was outstanding, and I am still getting compliments on their behalf from our guests days later. They were able to bring dinner prepared and kept warm due to the location being a vacation rental in Half Moon Bay that didn't want us using the kitchen. For appetizers we had beef meatballs in bourbon BBQ sauce (I personally went nuts for these - delicious), and Spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese mini pies) which were both crowd hits. For dinner (buffet set-up where the server plated for people to reduce multiple people making contact with the serving utensils) the available options for my guests were: Angus beef roasted tri-tip with 10 spices (the fatty parts melted in your mouth, huge deal for us meat lovers - more than one of my guests said it was the best tri-tip they'd ever had in a very serious way), guava-honey-chipotle chicken thighs (also a big hit, we actually finished these completely without leftovers), orzo with sun dried tomatoes - olives - and feta (a huge hit with our vegetarians), roasted veggies with Greek herbs (great), and the seeds and greens salad (people raved about it all through the evening). They also brought iced tea and soft drinks. The server was super amicable and even helped us with serving things we had brought ourselves: the champagne, wine, and sparkling apple cider for our toasts and through dinner time - which I know some places just won't do if it isn't theirs. We also brought our own plates/cups/etc and he was super on top of structuring the buffet area for ease of use and used some of our decorative bins for the napkins/utensils, he seriously rolled with whatever we threw at him, super thankful for that! The few leftovers we had were wrapped up by the server and my guests had no qualms taking them home! Overall, a seriously great catering experience from flexible customer service and outstanding food. We hope to still have the big reception with the rest of our friends and family next summer, hopefully once COVID is more under control, and we hope to hire Kitchenina again. We highly recommend them!

Everything went smoothly from the first conversation to the last 2 hours before the event when I decided to rent cutlery at the last minute. They were able to make it happen. Food was delicious and the event flowed without a hitch. Servers offered to light candles, check on various extra for me. Also made an effort to engage my kid in conversation about the business of catering. I would definitely use Kitchenina again and would highly recommend the staff.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do not include tax in our estimates. Tax should always added in the end.
For a weekend catering, we have a minimum of $700 before tax and delivery.
For a weekday lunch catering, our minimum is $300 before tax and delivery.
For any dinner service, we have a minimum of $650 before tax and delivery.
Our delivery fee depends on where the event is taking place.If there is no parking available and we have to pay for a parking space, that fee is charged to the customer.
For weddings and large events, the delivery fee ranges from $200-800 depending on load to deliver and delivery zip code.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We ask for a 20% non refundable deposit to book the date and time for you and if you would like a tasting with us,we charge a $35 tasting fee per person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had 4 years of college education, my Bachelor being in Tourism and Hospitality studies. I speak three languages and I have been in the restaurant industry since 2000. I was an event planner for many big brand hotels like Hilton, Starwood and more and I enjoy meeting different people and making their events memorable.
