FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing structure is clearly defined on my website (mnikesa.com). There are packages for recurring students who book on a monthly basis. Prices will vary slightly depending on your goals. I use the first session to assess my students’ goals. This helps determine if your goals would best be served by more labor-intensive work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In that first session, I’ll want to hear 2 things: your specific goals and where your literacy skills are now. That will enable me to make the most effective (and efficient) action plan. Even in that first session, I will be able to begin addressing some of those “action plan” items. I have become skilled at “reading” my students’ needs on the spot. I can strategically, systematically address challenges effectively in the moment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
•English Education degree (Southern Methodist University, magma cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) •Masters in Reading Instruction (In process, Loyola Marymount University) •TESOL certified •Yale University’s Teachers Institute •Teacher of the Year (2003, Finalist 2006) •Curriculum Author for New Haven Public Schools
