Raven C. says, "i appreciated teles’ enthusiasm, knowledge and guidance. he has a lot to offer as a teacher and i gained valuable skills in music theory, understanding that there’s room for mistakes and not everything will be perfect, and scales! unfortunately our communication styles led to misunderstandings and our personal values just did not quite align. i did learn a lot in my time with him but decided to move on due to personal compatibility issues. despite this, i am so grateful for the lessons learned and will always cherish him as my honorary first teacher. he even reached out to me to have an open discussion about our discord and i really appreciated that and even gave me time to process and prepare for when i was ready to address them, which i feel shows willingness to learn from his students, past and present. i think anyone would be lucky to have such a kind, supportive teacher who is also just a human, like the rest of us."See more

I figured I would miss the in person lessons but virtual has been amazing and now I know they can be great if done well- which he does. And it's also nice to not have to leave the house! We have a shared Dropbox folder. He sends files to see and read and even recordings to practice along with in between lessons. Also, a couple years ago, I wanted to shift to guitar and so we did and it was seamless. He took much of what I learned on ukulele and used it to help me understand the guitar better. I still take lessons with Ian to this day and I couldn't recommend him more!"See more

I started taking guitar lessons with Mike last year, as a beginner. Over the eight months I've been playing, I've noticed major improvements in my technique. Mike has taught me everything from new chords and scales to fingerstyle and flatpicking. He uses a blend of exercises and guided practice to help you grasp the material, and will show you ways to learn and play various songs of your choosing. Additionally, I have a much greater understanding of musical theory as a result of my lessons (arpeggios, cadences, rhythm, the ability to read music, etc.). I should mention that Mike is patient, flexible, and accommodating...traits that I really appreciate, given the fact that I'm a working adult and have many other demands on my time. All in all, Mike's a great teacher and I highly recommend him.
