I am not the cheapest but I am one of the best! 😉😊
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the tile trade and only the tile trade for over 30 years. I have been to many workshops and continue to attend works shops every chance I get.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became a dad at a very young age and needed to find a job Asap! I opened the paper to the classifieds (back when people used the newspaper to look for jobs) I came upon a job in the Union for Tile Setters helpers and was hired along with 40 other helpers (this was the beginning of the housing boom) out of the 40 2 of us made it. I saw the potential of this being a good career all the tile setter where driving new trucks and seemed to love what they do.The union was a great place to start I worked hard the raises came quick I went from $6.25 a hr to $17.00hr in no time pretty good money for a kid in his 20's! After 4 years with the Union and free training I moved on to the largest tile company in Ventura County and became a tile setter after another 4 years with this company and doing tract work day in and day out and doing the hurry get it done type work I had enough and ventured out on my own so could start doing quality work not quantity. To me tile is art not just a job!
