I'm really pleased with the service... excellent value, treated my home with respect and took great care to protect furniture and hardwood floor from damage from the equipment. Carpet looked and smelled great afterwards.
I had water damage on the side of our house where the solar panel was built. Steve was able to help me take care of this urgent matter right away with perfect match of paint and material. We had gotten a few other quotes prior and we were not happy with their suggestions. But Steve was very professional and was able to take care of our water damage in a very professional and reasonable way. Overall happy with everything. Highly recommended and very dependable unlike other contractors.
James was quick to come to my aid with a leak and water damage! He was very professional and I felt comfortable having him in our home.
I manage a property and the tenant had a repetitive leak that went unannounced for a couple of months. Needless to say, mold started to appear beneath the leak and in the adjacent wall. Insurance would not cover the damage due to the duration of the leak and we were left with what we thought was a full demo of the kitchen, mold remediation, and a full rebuild out of pocket. At this point we got lucky and discovered Pure-R Space on Thumbtack who offered to do the mold remediation without a demo. We thought it was too good to be true, but Shegun was able to complete the full project without removing any cabinetry with his minimally invasive approach to remediation-- all within the course of a couple of hours. I would recommend Shegun and his craft to anyone with a mold problem. His unique approach saved us a lot of money, time and headaches all while managing the needs of an unhappy tenant.
I have never used Thumbtack before and had previous trouble finding good help in my area. I am pleased to say that Robin worked out great and did a fine job fixing my concrete patio and walkway after a major plumbing disaster. His price was within the other two quotes I received, but he got the job for his eager to help attitude. He got it done on time too. The walkway was stained red and he nailed the color in the patch. Better then I expected. I would hire him again.
I hired this service for a deep clean. The price was right. Mona worked for hours cleaning my apartment top to bottom. An incredibly hard working lady, she did a thorough and excellent job which included floor to ceiling mirrors and sliding glass doors, other windows, wood cabinetry, large surface areas and laminate flooring. It was definitely a 2 person job. The reason for 4 stars is that the logistics were off. This is an Orange county based business. I live in the south bay. I needed help during the week. I was told 2 people were coming. Traffic is terrible during the week and I am far from the freeways. Getting another person out to help Mona didn't work out because the other lady was in Orange county and couldn't get to me. If you live closer to their major service areas, definitely hire these folks, but not situated well for south bay residents late in the day.
Johnny did an amazing job repairing my damaged wooden patio cover. He gave me a very detailed estimate and even though it turned out that he had to replace several more wooden beams than originally estimated, he did not increase his charge. He is very professional and thorough and has a great positive attitude! I strongly recommend him. --DH
American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.
Im real estate property manager. I met Sal in 2010. Since then Ive always been impressed with his work. He has done many repairs and improvements such as installing new vinyl windows, including patio sliders. Ive had him install bathtub/shower enclosures, sinks, toilets, garbage disposers and water heaters. He has replace valves and faucets. He can frame walls, hang and finish drywall beautifully. Recently he installed a stove exhaust hood vent, including cutting the existing cabinets and venting it out the roof. He has hung interior and exterior doors. He can trouble shoot electrical problems, replace circuit breakers, install coax, HDMI and CAT5. Ive asked him to run new electrical and cable outlets and install TV braces and hang large TVs. I recently had a dishwasher leak in an upstairs apartment that damaged the ceiling below. Sal removed the old damaged ceiling. Ran fans to make sure everything was dry before he installed new drywall and insulation in the kitchen/dining area. He added a brace for a new ceiling fan, which he also installed. He matched the existing drywall texture and painted it. He also installed a new dishwasher upstairs. In addition to all of the above he can unclog drains big and small. This is only a partial list of his abilities; no job is too big or small. He's excellent at problem solving and Ive yet to find anything he cant do well. Most of all hes dependable, honest and fair, not to mention hes a Marine. I would highly recommend Sal.
My wife and daughter were having respiratory problem during the winter season. I was very concerned that it may have been from a mold issue in our house from previous water damage. I contacted quite a few inspectors through Thumbtack. I can tell you this was quite an experience in itself. I had price quote ranging from $200-$800. They all offered similar services with swap & air testing. Everything outside of these tests were additional charges. Bill from OneCall2 was one of five inspectors called that week. He was just generous with the information about mold problems he's dealt with from previous clients. He explained in detail his methods of identifying and remedying them. He then offered me that one thing that none of the other inspectors offered, which was that if he couldn't detect any mold problem he would not charge me. How rare is it these days to find such an honest businessman to offer such guarantee!! I took his offer but was convinced I would end up paying for something. Instead, Bill showed up to conduct his test throughout the house to determine whether further lab testing was required. I can tell you he was very thorough and professional along the way. He showed us everything he was doing and answered all our questions. He tested areas we had concerns about with no hesitation. At the end, Bill did not find any moisture and mold infestation. I can't tell you how relieved my wife and I were. It's the unknown that is most unsettling. Now we know to pursue other causes of my family's sickness. But best of all he kept his words and bid us farewell without charging us as promised. Wow!!! I highly recommend you make OneCall2 the first or last phone call in your such for an inspector. I can't guarantee you the same happy outcome as mind but I can guarantee you'll get a honest and true professional inspector with Bill.
Rain leak on roof. Germain has done the great job. He has checked not only leaking on the flashing around the vent but also turn-up all roof titles and found some of titles out of alignment and he realigned the titles. He also resealed flashing of chimney area with no extra charge. He is a very honest and has skills and knowledge about the job that he has done.
Our pantry ceiling collapsed from a flood of water coming from our attic. Jay quickly identified the problem as a plugged condensate line from the attic air conditioning unit. Jay flushed the line quickly and charged a reasonable fee. Jay also referred us to the restoration contractor who dried our pantry and replaced the damaged insulation, drywall, and ceiling. I would definitely hire Jay again. In fact, we did hire Jay to replace our hot water heater and water pressure regulator valve and turn-off valve leading into our house.
Florin did an awesome job repairing and repainting my bathroom ceiling and window seal. Both were peeling due to shower moisture damage. He was professional and cleaned up after the job was complete. I recommend him if you need a contractor!
I had him come to remove a ceiling fan and install a new ceiling fan and wall switch. Because did such a nice job, I had him remove and install two bath faucets one of which needed more repair than I thought. He also repaired my tub faucet which I knew needed lots of work. If I need anymore repairs, I will definitely call him.
B. King is currently our favorite person. We hired him initially because our home renovation contractor had done some damage to our house. Rather than fix it, the contractor told us to hire someone else to fix it. Not knowing what else to do, we set out to do as he advised, which led us to B.King. B.King came over, took one look at the site and pointed out all the things our contractor had done that the Contractors State Licensing Board would view as violations. He instructed us to take pictures, file a complaint right away, and contact a lawyer--all of which we did that night. Suddenly, our renovation contractor was singing a different tune. He volunteered to fix everything and even paid B.King to repair some of the items he'd pointed out. B.King ended up saving us thousands of dollars in legal fees and empowered us with the knowledge we needed to get our renovation contractor to perform as contracted. B. King also completed the work the next day, had competitive pricing, and was a dream to work with.
Chris did a great job in repairing a trailer that was damaged for us. Did what he said and with knowledge. His repair was done right and with great efficiency. As far as we were concerned this job was a 10. He was always prompt and clear with his work plan. We highly recommend him.
I worked with Joe Sierra and his lovely wife Monica. They basically replaced my kitchen and bathroom after a complete demolition from water damage. Once the work began, it went relatively fast. They provided cabinets, counter tops, and flooring. There were a few hiccups along the way, but El Sol didn't close my file until I was satisfied. El Sol would be my first contact should I need work done in the future.
I hired Octavio fix up and remodeling several different projects throughout my home. I needed my kitchen remodeled and my bathroom was very dated. I was very pleased with the level of professionalism and work performed. Octavio is very knowledgeable and skilled. I appreciated his experience because he was able to fix any unforseen problem such as water damage behind the drywall, and the end product looks great. I would call him again if I have future projects.
Tri State responded very quickly to my water damage in my home. They worked quickly and were very professional. I would highly recommend them
The work performed by Rewind Emergency Services was outstanding! Daryl and his crew were on time, always prompt with communication and ran an extremely clean and safe job site. It's never fun to experience water damage to your home, so it's always nice to hire someone like Rewind to make the experience the best it can be. I appreciate all of Daryls and his crews hard work and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for emergency restoration services!
These guys did a very fine job for me when a leaky roof led to water penetration and damage inside my home. They did everything properly and went well beyond what would have been standard and what I would have expected. Specifically, Kevin coordinated everything. He was always on time, texted before he showed up, and came by multiple times himself and with his crew to complete the job. The nature of the water leak was such that it was very difficult to dry completely. Some of the water had entered behind a fireplace with a tile front. The moisture was visible on Kevin's meter, but was hard to get at and was not drying effectively even after a long time with blowers and dehumidifiers. The standard thing to do would have been to rip the tile front off the fireplace and just have it rebuilt later. I wasn't eager at all to do such extensive damage to my home though if I could possibly avoid it. Kevin and his crew worked to get at the wet spots, contriving ducting for the dehumidifiers, a sort of plastic tenting, and coming at it from in front and behind. Mainly, they were willing to leave their dehumidifiers (expensive capital equipment for their company) in place and working until the moisture finally dried adequately. In sum, these guys did all the basics just right, communicated like champs, and went well above what would have been standard practice in cleaning up my water-damaged home. Great people to work with all around; I recommend highly with no reservations.
