Introduction: I'm offering piano lessons for all ages in San Jose, CA. In my piano studio, you'd learn how to play different styles of music, music theory, piano techniques and lots more. I enjoy watching students going from total strangers to life long friends with music. I love to see children come to my lessons who are so eager to share their new discovery in music. Sometimes students would insist to play their favorite tune before lessons. Sometimes they would want to sing their hearts out with new chords they learn. It's an incredible feeling to see people taking on this fine skill of playing piano which could comfort our minds and wash away all worries in time!

My 8 year old daughter, with no piano playing experience, started piano lessons with Jacqueline Lu in March of 2014. My 14 year old son, who plays by ear, was so impressed and challenged by his sisterâs ability to effortlessly sight read and play piano, requested lessons and Jackie has been his tutor since July, 2014. Jacqueline has a degree in music and relates very well with children of all ages. She is very patient and is always smiling. She does not "drill-and-kill", but keeps children motivated through constant encouragement. She is very efficient with her time, and gets a lot covered in a short lesson. She also adapts the curriculum based on the need of each child in collaboration with the parents which is awesome. In addition she holds recitals from time to time, so that children get the experience of playing for an audience. Parents are also welcome to relax in her studio enjoying the music as she provides instruction. If you want your child to learn in a calm, kind and encouraging environment, I highly recommend Jacqueline Lu. Jean H.

Jacqueline Lu is amazing with my son. This was our first experience with piano lessons, and I am so glad we were introduced to her. My son is 6 years old, and I was worried he was not old enough to do it, but it has worked out better than I could have imagined it. She has such patience and understanding for where he is developmentally, and she knows how to encourage him without being too much like a cheerleader. My son already understands way more about music and the piano than I do, all because of his wonderful piano teacher.

Jacque is an excellent piano teacher. She has a lot of experience and knowledge when it comes to teaching music. Not only does she have the patience, but she makes learning piano fun. I am impressed on how well my 7 year old son plays the piano after a year with Jacque. We get a lot of good compliments from family and friends everytime my son plays the piano. My son developed the love of music and looks forward to every piano session with Jacque. Thanks Jacque for all that you do!

Graduated from Berklee College of music with Master Certificate in music writing and producing. And Specialist certificate in Voice. 15 years of private classical and jazz piano training. 20 years of private piano teaching experience. 5 years of experience in teaching "Music for Young Children" group piano program. 5 years of experience in teaching "the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program"
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Starting at age of 18, I passed piano exam to teach at Yamaha and several piano studios in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2004 I moved to the State (Michigan). I then went through the teacher's training and started to teach "Music for Young Children" program along with giving private piano lessons in American Music Academy for a couple of years. In 2009, I moved to California with my family and started my own studio at home in Roseville, CA. I began then to teach the piano program of the Royal Conservatory and to help students preparing for and taking the Royal Conservatory Certificate program examinations.
