- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was growing up, I was fascinated by any new construction and remodeling that I would happen upon. I would ride my bike to construction sites and watch the processes and of course ask a lot of questions. It was then that I decided what I wanted to do about 25 years ago.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
New Custom Homes, additions and remodels. The most common places we work are in the kitchen and bathrooms. We have worked on commercial projects but only high end work.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is all too common for customers to initially think that they can just get a lot of bids and then pick the cheapest one and save a lot of money. Most of the time the cheapest bids are actually for far less than the actual cost of the job. So, one of two things usually happens in this situation; either the contractor does a horrible job and or walks away, or the contractor has a plan to use loop holes in the contract to more than double the actual final costs. My advice would be to choose carefully and not just based on price. You are going to have people coming into your home and you want to make sure they are good, honest and take pride in what they do.
