(I would have clicked on professionalism and value as well but Thumbtack only allows selecting 3 items). I found Rudy by Googling for hardwood floor installers. Initially I was skeptical because he could not provide any recent customer references for whom he did hardwood/laminate flooring. Most of his experience appeared to be in tile work. Subsequently Rudy was able to connect me with 2 customers for whom he did laminate flooring work before the pandemic. They gave me very positive feedback and I decided to hire him. Also I wanted to give him a chance to grow his fledgling business. I must say that I have not regretted my decision one bit. Rudy did absolutely top class work. You can, of course, find many expert installers with similar skills but I was even more impressed by Rudy's punctuality and his easy going attitude. He would show up exactly when he promised and if, for some reason, he was held up (traffic etc.) he would inform me in advance. He finished his work on time. He is very easy to interact with and has calm demeanor. Although he is half my age we have become more like friends than customer and installer. Rudy was also very helpful adjusting to little things that always crop up during any kind of installation work and he took care of all that with a smile without charging extra. And most importantly I found Rudy to be very trustworthy and that is of paramount importance if you have someone working inside your home for multiple days. In summary I would say that you can hire him for flooring (tile/wood/laminate) without a second thought. He knows his stuff. In fact I am thinking about having him do some work on our kitchen cabinets. I highly recommend Rudy.
