Introduction: One of my greatest strengths as an educator is meeting each student's unique needs by developing a personal understanding of him or her. I achieve this by assessing each student as an individual and then I tailor the tutoring experience to fit their specific level and skill. Furthermore, I incorporate a variety of object demonstrations and enjoyable experiences into lesson plans which reveal a direct connection between academic work and daily life, and help to keep students motivated and interested.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Education is as ever changing as the students who flow in and out of the classroom. I am constantly learning from my tutoring sessions and in-class experiences; my students often hear me say how I am learning right along with them (although while they are learning the material, I am learning how to better teach it). I am currently an Undergraduate student at San Diego State University, studying Elementary Education and I have an AA in Elementary Education from San Diego City College.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My best advice for a customer looking to hire a tutor like me is to ask as many questions as possible, and to share as much as possible about your educational desires. When you talk to your prospective tutor, make sure you cover the who, what, where, when, why, and how, to be sure that you and your tutor are working together to meet your goals.
