I highly recommend Arlet to businesses looking for a smart, talented, and creative graphic designer. I had the pleasure to work with Arlet on my business logo (www.miconms.com) as well as signage for my office. The creatives were spot on. J7 had a Circus event at a local Pub/Restaurant raising awareness and money to build wells for clean drinking water. Her passion was apparent with the enthusiasm she had as there were many participants, from Artists to Pole Dancers to Speakers, for the event. J7 was welcoming and busy tending to needs that occurred as the event went on making sure that guests and participants were well taken care of. It was the first time I met Miss J7 and in that experience she revealed herself as a capable event planner and manager, and after time, as an amazing overall individual.

I’d leave Ian a dozen good reviews if I could as I’ve hired / worked with him on a couple of handfuls of projects throughout the years. From graphic design stuff for my art studio and restaurant to art installation projects for a friends record label. He’s always gone above and beyond with attention to detail in terms of graphics and what not. Very creative and soft spoken so you may have to explain your vision a couple times but once he catches on its game time. He also, has the ability to take on projects start to finish if your willing to give up creative control. Would highly recommend as his analog approach to art and installation work is a dying breed. Pics are some examples I could randomly find on my phone but there’s some hands on painting in my art studio, to some photography work he’s done and even found an old pic of a T-shirt he helped print about 18 years ago. Time flies. He’s been consistent and growing in his abilities as an artist, photographer, musician. And father.

I met Jon through my cousin, and was skeptical with web developers at the time because a previous company charged me both arm and legs for a POS site. Jon looked it over and said he will build me the right one. Sure enough 2Point Digital Agency built me exactly what I wanted with all the necessary tools to expand into a fully operable e-commerce site, and for less than the previous company charged me. All texts, calls, and concerns are responded to immediately. I've worked with a few agencies and I by far had the best experience with 2Point. Thanks Jon and Nick!

I worked with Terri to design a Logo for my business. After our initial communication, she discussed with my my perception of what I wanted and also asked me some questions on the way I run my business and the type of person I am. Her first run through she definitely captured what I was going for, and within the first revision I had the basic outline for what I wanted. She is an amazing artist and definitely great to work with, and incredibly talented. I look forward to working with her in the future. I could not be any happier. I confidently recommend her services!

Sean Michael Robinson is a multitalented wonderful professional & amazing artist! We are filmmakers who needed a portrait sketch that plays a key element in our indie feature film. Sean made himself available to us immediately and worked around our schedules. We didn't have an actual photo, so he literally had to recreate something from scratch and he had the patience to work with us! He worked closely with the director of the film and wouldn't leave until it was exactly how he wanted it to look. Sean Michael is wonderful to work with and we would recommend him to all!!! About

We stand out by listening to our clients first. We then know if they have a clear picture of what they are trying to produce. Often, they are not sure how to define their vision. We gently guide them to a plan they can trust us with producing. Seeing the world. Making something new.

About

I am very clean/detailed oriented and understand what works in today's environment. I do not outsource or simply pass along to others - I personally do majority of the tasks myself (excluding difficult development & highly technical tasks). I do not oversell, sometimes search/SEO/marketing is a risk and we can discuss these prior to starting so expectations are not realistic. I've been in the digital sphere for years and know true customization is the key metric to success. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

What should you look for in a website designer?

A professional web designer creates the look and feel of your website, collaborating with you to choose colors, creating logos and other branding materials, establishing page layouts, and creating sample pages. An important part of web design is making sure the site is functional, meets your goals, and is easy for users to navigate. When you’re looking to hire a web designer, start by reviewing the person’s portfolio. Look for samples of work that match what you envision for your website, including experience building the types of pages or features you want. Make sure the web designer is familiar with your industry and understands both industry trends and web design trends — an old-fashioned or out-of-touch site will turn customers away rather than intrigue them.

Because web designers tend to work as freelancers on a project basis, they must be excellent communicators, willing to manage their own work, and available on your schedule. Some critical skills, such as working collaboratively and responding enthusiastically to feedback, aren’t core to good web design, but make working with a web designer much easier. Finally, look for a web designer who has cross-functional knowledge, such as understanding marketing and conversion rate optimization in addition to web design.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

  • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
  • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
  • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

What do you look for in a web design company?

The web design company you choose must be able to interpret your company’s mission and identity and turn it into an appealing website that connects with potential customers. They must help you reach your target audience and meet your business goals. A web design agency should have on staff both talented web designers, with fresh ideas and extensive technical and creative skills, and a marketing team that knows how to drive traffic to your site, encourage visitor engagement, and convert visitors into customers. Web designers should be able to build in search optimization and integrate your site with a content management system and e-commerce tools. Look, too, for a website design company that understands responsive design and can optimize your website for mobile devices and desktop browsers. The right web design company understand current design and website trends, has experience building sites in a variety of industries (not just yours), and has an expansive portfolio of live websites. Finally, don’t simply hire the cheapest bidder — in web design, as in all things, you get what you pay for.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
