About
There is much to say about integrity. I pride myself on that alone. It involves reliability and honesty. It is being fair. It is finding alternative solutions with my clients best interest in mind. It is being quality orientated and often going the extra mile. It is doing things the right way all the time. It is never having a client complaint or a callback for correction in 32 years.
I enjoy working with my hands. I enjoy a challenge and solving problems that can arise. It is always rewarding to see a job well done. I enjoy the fact that every project is a little different. I am proud of the extensive knowledge and experience I have attained yet there is always more to learn and ways to improve - such is life.

Brendt framed an office shed for us. He was flexible with our odd design, prompt, and professional. I'm no expert, but it looks like a fantastic job.
Details: No, the structure has not yet been built • Shed or standalone • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • No, this is a new structure • No, I do not need plumbing or electrical lines installed • No, I do not need drywall applied • Home

During the long life of our ongoing construction project I always warned my wife against contractors who, when they run into a problem seek a fast, easy and inexpensive (for them) solution without regard to the long term. That is NOT Brendt Finley. Brendt will devote considerable time and thought into coming up with the BEST solution to the problem and go from there. He brings tons of experience and considerable intellect to the table. A good contractor like Brendt is a valuable resource and I am looking forward to working with him again. As an added bonus, if you are within earshot of where he is working, you will be treated to some great music. Our project was installing 6 feet of shear wall and had some complications.

We hired Brendt for a framing project. He was very professional and with over 30 years experience as a General Contractor, he is also super helpful. We found him easy to work with, as well as clean. His contract was very detailed, and he will try to work to a schedule to keep things moving along. As far as pricing, I felt Brendt was fair, as he understands that his clients have a budget. I would not hesitate to hire Brendt again, or recommend him for future projects. In short, he is a very honest, hard working, contractor.
Details: Yes, but I want the current structure expanded • Wall to an existing room • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • Yes, an existing wall needs to be removed • Yes, I need plumbing or electrical lines installed • Yes, I need drywall applied • Home

Brendt is a true craftsman! He was very responsive to my request to bid for our home addition and showed up with the plans printed out (on his own dime). We had significant issues with the plans which he consulted on and worked out with our engineer. His work, honesty, and professionalism are hard to find these days.
Details: Yes, but I want the current structure expanded • New room • Already have plans - just need installation • Yes, an existing wall needs to be removed • As recommended by carpenter • Yes, I need drywall applied • Home

I found Brendt Finley Construction (BFC) online at Thumbtack as part of a first pass search for a general contractor for my home project. After obtaining 6 different estimates, Brendt was one of three that responded timely and requested to come out, discuss/review the job site and ultimately provide an estimate. He provided a clear and understandable overview of the construction requirements needed to accomplish the job without all the “required” extensive modifications the other contractors noted. The entire project was planned very diligently and conducted with great attention to the details; starting with preparation to the very final part, the clean up. Brendt patiently worked with the city of La Mesa’s building division to understand and obtain the required permits. He coordinated his schedule as well as that of his sub-contractors to maintain my tight timelines. He even worked closely with me on evaluating and coordinating an additional sub-contractor I selected to provide service for the project. I should also add that during the whole time, there was outstanding communication which afforded consensus on proposed changes by both parties. Based on the quality of the work and management of the overall project, I immediately requested another quote from BFC for another home improvement task before he could be booked again. Brendt was able to fit in my second project and finish to meet my schedule. Again, the quality of work and attention to detail came through. I would highly recommend BFC as the general contractor for your home project.
Details: I'm just starting • Garage • Replacement of portions of existing structure • Residential

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everyone has their price. There is always someone higher and there is always someone lower. I've typically been in the middle with my estimates over the years which is a good place to be. People tend to look at the high price as too much and the low price as possibly having reliability and quality issues.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This Thumbtack online quoting thing is a good idea in theory I guess. It is quite convenient for the consumer however, there is much to be said about meeting in person, discussing everything, and visually inspecting the job. It is difficult to accurately estimate a project with a brief description and a few pictures.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
No formal education or training. Everything I know I have attained doing it hands on for thirty years...far superior to anything taught in a textbook
