G.D. locksmith changed the locks on our new house. It was a bit difficult because I had contacted him, but my husband was present during the call, so things did not go very smoothly.

First, we had discussed presenting some variety of lock options to my husband, but instead, he just went ahead and changed the locks. The charge was $250.00 per door, which from my research, the standard charge is $50.00 to $200.00 per lock, but my husband just went ahead and okayed, so that is a marriage issue not an issue with the contractor.

Second, the appointment was supposed to be at 1:30 p.m. I thought the address had been provided via the project description on Thumbtack, but he did not ask me for the address until 12:13 p.m. on the day of the planned appointment, so I did not see the message because I thought we were confirmed. I saw the message at 1:10 p.m. and responded immediately, so he showed up around 3ish, which was hard because we were trying to do staggered slots for contractor appointments that day, so it kind of messed things up.

In total, the locks were changed, but there was definite room for improvement on communication in terms of presenting the lock options we discussed to my husband, confirming the address earlier, etc.
