I had been meditating on my own using the Headspace app and reading books on meditation and always wanted to take a retreat, so I signed up for this one. Wow. The leader of the retreat, John Quirk, is someone who truly has the best interest of people in mind. I met other incredible people on the retreat who I will never forget. I felt at peace and came back home with a fresh mind and focus. I did things I never thought I could do, like sit in an ice bath! I learned new breathing techniques. I had loads of fun. There are some talks on quantum mechanics and the Law of Attraction that didn't appeal to me particularly, but I saw that other people definitely enjoyed. Overall, the experience is absolutely worthwhile. Don't let your busy life get in the way and sign up for this.

This retreat was life changing for me for the following reasons:1. The breathwork sessions were profound. Breathing itself is such a basic skill; and yet only a few of us master it. Learning how to breathe again, getting into a peaceful rhythm, and experiencing meditative states which allowed me to access my subconscious mind were once-in-a-lifetime experiences.2. The ice baths were energizing. Although not the best feeling at first, getting into ice water is powerful in that it allows us to surrender and be present in the now but also they are physically and mentally beneficial!3. The food was excellent. Our group had great offerings with wonderful service thanks to Ocho and Sophie. I am thinking about turning vegan after seeing how mentally clear and focused I felt during my stay!4. The people. This really should be #1. John Quirk brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to mental and physical wellness. He has a great retreat program with a good mix of meditation, yoga and lectures on quantum physics. Additionally, he brought together the best group of people I could dream of. I connected with wonderful, kind, and very (very) funny people; community was a the core of this retreat and I am forever grateful to everyone who made this retreat so magical for me.If the above points dont convince you to attend this retreat, I dont know what will Enjoy!

I was skeptical at first, but I genuinely had a great experience. I had the opportunity to connect with amazing people and even made lifelong connections. Its amazing how close you can get to completely strangers in just a few days.I love that this is set up in a way that you can take whats for you from what John teaches and leave what isnt - without judgement. This entire experience felt judgement free and it was great to be in a place away from home and just have a pause on life. Not caring what you wear, how you look, just as long as you show up. I enjoyed the yoga and the breath work is definitely something that changed my mindset.I was worried about no coffee, intermittent fasting, and cold plunges but I was perfectly fine with each of those. (Cold plunges dont last too long, dont worry). There are also granola bars, tea, and snacks out at all times if you choose to break your fast. I recommend you try your best and give the experience your all. Its worth it.John, Sophie, and Ocho are an amazing team and worked so well together to make sure we were cared for. Also, I did the craniosacral massage with Kendel and loved it!All in all I would definitely recommend !

SoCal Wellness Retreats is much more than I had anticipated. I'd been to a yoga retreat before but this is more focused on 'wellness'.John is a great yoga instructor and shares his knowledge, patience and humor throughout the yoga sessions, one session on each of the full days. We also did breathwork which was the highlight for me. It's the sort of thing that can be tough to adhere to on your own but with a skilled facilitator like John guiding us, it became quite a journey. I see it as a game-changer if I can cultivate a regular practice at home. There was also a sound bath session and very interesting discussions on quantum physics which were both helpful.Throughout the 4 days John's knack for creating community and connections was the quality that separates this retreat from others, he truly has a gift and shares it happily. John welcomed 11 participants (and two amazing staff who made sure all of our needs were met in the kitchen) from all over the country with one thing in common, a wish to get away from normal life, connect with like-minded people, and connect with themselves. At no time was there drama or conflict, this isn't always the case in retreats I'd guess.Highly recommend this retreat!

This is the 3rd retreat that I have attended with John. I was very happy with the first two, but this one fell so short of the mark. The food situation was not good: meals served consistently after the time that they were supposed to be and sometimes not enough food. Massages were cancelled, rescheduled, changed to reiki without my input and then that was cancelled as well. I brought my concerns to John in private, but his answer was to cancel the sound bath so that the woman could concentrate on the food. This helped nothing and eliminated a planned event. When I left, John gave me a hug and I hugged him only softly and quickly. He turned to another woman and said well that was cold and I dont care. John does well with strong people attending to the needs and nurturing of the group. But he had a young girl managing all the details this time and left to his own devices, his inability to take responsibility and his immaturity really shine.. So unfortunate. Someone contacted me today about attending a retreat and I could not recommend it. Repeat customers treated poorly is an unwise way to run a business.

Hey Cindy, we love that you enjoyed your first two retreats with us and wish you would have participated with us in Sedona. Those that did had a wonderful experience and we think you would have too had you actually given the retreat a chance. We did run into an unexpected change in venues at the last minute, I'm sure you can appreciate that puts tremendous stress on the staff but I'm extremely proud of how they responded and tried to support you. We did address your concerns about the food being 30 minutes late the first night but you decided to eat elsewhere for the remainder of the retreat and then blamed us for not doing anything about it. We did all the planned activities however you chose not to show up to more than half of them. You did share with me that you enjoyed several activities like the breathwork, cold plunge, wolf sanctuary and hike even though you didn't mention that in your review. The sound bath was not on the original schedule, our chef offered that as a bonus but we replaced it after the venue change because it was a lot for her to manage. We did that to help address your concerns about the food so it seems we were damned if we did or didn't as far as you're concerned. You also didn't mention that we replaced that session with a class that you specifically requested to us that we were happy to provide and you said you enjoyed but didn't share in your review. You also demanded the massage we gifted to you be at a certain time and then complained when we said you couldn't have two hours back to back as we had other folks who were signed up we had to be fair to. We offered you a free reiki session (so two free sessions) instead which you declined, it was not canceled as you asserted. The "young girl" who manages our details is a 33-year-old woman who does an incredible job managing multiple teams and facets of what we do. She is incredibly warm and welcoming and has literally never taken issue with someone until interacting with you at this retreat. As a team we put a tremendous amount of energy into trying to make you happy just as we have done on retreats in the past. It's unfortunate that after all the positive experiences you have had with us that you couldn't recognize we were doing everything we could to support you. You might notice there are several stellar reviews of this retreat from those that did choose to participate. I take full responsibility that Sedona was a new venture for us and did present some unique challenges. You're correct, at the end I did not care that you were cold towards me because there is only so far you can go to try and make folks happy. I hope you're able to find more love and empathy for those that are seeking to help and support you on your journey.
