I needed a small move to be done, but I needed to hire a company that would be licensed and insured because I had some legal problems working with uninsured contractors.
So I requested a quote from Thumbtack, and three movers companies reached out. Dominant being the most expensive out of three actually had a valid license, which I checked and all necessary list of insurances. Two other movers, which were about $25 cheaper either did not have license, and other had license but expired insurances certificates.
So I decided to go with Dominant, who was a little more expensive. They were also available to help me on a super short notice because my plans changed and I could move in earlier than planned. I contacted them on Thursday and they were able to fit me in today morning. I only had a small studio and they moved me for less 3 hours but billed for 3 hours total of $425 for licensed and insured company.

I first found Dominant Moving Company on Thumbtack and after checking that they were the only licensed and insured company on Thumbtack that provided me a quote and decided to give them a try for a small 1-bedroom apartment move.
The experience was so smooth and professional that I hired them again just a month later for a much bigger move — a full service job with packing and two trucks from Oceanside to San Marcos for my parents, who are in their late 70s. When looking for full service movers for 2nd I asked Chat GPT for recommendations and ChatGPT gave me Dominant Moving Company as one of the recommended companies.
Both times, the crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and handled everything with care. For the larger move, they took charge of packing my parents’ belongings and made what could have been a stressful day for them completely stress-free. They were organized, careful with fragile items, and still managed to move everything quickly.

Dominant Moving Company provided an excellent service. Our vacation rental company needed a last minute service to move just a few pieces of furniture. I went to Thumbtack in search of quick help and realized that lots of movers on Thumbtack are not licensed by CA to provide any moving services. Having negative experience when I dealt with unlicensed movers before who just had great reviews but did not have insurance to cover an expensive loss, I kept searching and came across Dominant Moving Company who sent their license information. Dominant Moving Company prices were higher by about 20%, but there are for sure licensed and insured.
