My wife and I got married on 5/7/23 and we had Chef Logan and his team cater the wedding. Chef Logan was very pleasant to communicate with in the planning process and helped us choose the best menu that suited us and what we desired for our wedding. He was always quick to respond with any questions I had and very accommodating, even providing me with a bar tender contact of his which we ended up using for our wedding as well. His team showed up early the day of the wedding to set up and were very professional. I admired how they were willing to help with whatever needed to be done even outside of their specific duties as caterers. The food at our wedding was delicious and Chef Logan definitely knows what he’s doing when it comes to cooking and providing excellent service. Our wedding was approx 80 guests and there was plenty of food to go around. Many of our guests came up to me stating that the food was delicious and very nice. We will definitely be recommending Chef Logan and The Wandering Knife to anyone needing a good caterer for any event.

The best experience! We had to last minute find another chef and Evan was so accommodating. He created such an amazing meal for our family for my fathers 70th birthday. It was extremely special and I would highly recommend Chef Evan for your event!!

It was a great experience. We were in San Diego for my sister’s bachelorette party. We were looking for a private chef for evening and I’m glad we selected Chef Logan. He was very responsive and catering to our needs. Overall the interactions we had were amazing and food was phenomenal. Definitely would recommend hiring him again in the near future when traveling to San Diego.

While I was searching Thumbtack for an excellent caterer, I left Chef Logan an email very early on a Sunday morning. In less than an hour he responded. That says a lot about how devoted he is to his business and ultimately to his clients. He made a Mexican Buffet for our party and every dish was delicious with fresh, quality ingredients. The chafing dishes and serving tools he provided were clean and high quality. My friends and I all agreed it was a good value. He is punctual and professional. I recommend Chef Logan very highly.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Private Dinner Parties $100/ per guest (parties of 8 or more a Server is recommended for an additional $150) Event Catering Buffet $55-65/ per guest depending on Menu and party size Wedding Plated Service w/ Tray Passed Apps $75/ per guest Wedding Buffet Service w/ Tray Passed Apps $65/ per guest Wedding Buffet w/ No Apps $55/ per guest

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I am always happy to schedule a time to speak over the phone to ensure that all of your questions are answered. My job is to make your life easier and show your guests the best time possible! I have dozens of Menus to send over but am also happy to customize to a customer's requests, including integrating Vegan options or accommodating for any dietary restrictions or allergies.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I spent over a decade cooking in some of the best kitchens in the city, including working under Chef Ryan Johnston, an award winning Chef and former protege of Thomas Keller, at his former venue WhisknLadle which was San Diego's first Farm To Table Restaurant, as well as at his Michelin Star rated restaurant Catania, both located in La Jolla. I also started out working under Chef Keegan Gerhard, former host of the Food Network Challenge and a renowned Chef and Restauranteur from Chicago and Denver.
