Chef Logan was perfect. Food was good and professionalism was high. He came on time and prepared and cooked a wonderful meal for our friend's 40th birthday. We had a pretty good experience with The Wandering Knife. Although the meal started later than expected—we had requested service at 6:30 PM, but it began around 7:15 PM—the food itself was enjoyable. There were a couple of missed details: I had requested that some vegetables be included on the charcuterie board (since I opted for no salad) and garlic bread with the pasta dish, but neither of those items was served. That said, the bruschetta appetizer I ordered made up for the oversight. The chef was very quiet and kept to himself, which was a bit different from our more outgoing group, but it worked out fine. He handled setup and cleanup on his own, and but to keep things closer to schedule we helped out with serving the food to guests. Overall, there were a few bumps, but the meal was tasty and the evening turned out well.

Just to clarify a few things, the client asked for a second appetizer instead of a salad course, which I gave them at no additional charge even though that should have costed them more. The first appetizer, a charcuterie board, was out before 630, which I clearly asked them when they wanted the first course to start and she said 630, the second appetizer, a bruschetta, was out at exactly 630, and the dinner was ready to go but we had to wait twenty minutes and keep everything warm under my heat lamps while the guests finished their photo shoot in the backyard. Also there was absolutely no mention in any of the clients messages with me about wanting garlic bread with the pasta entree. There was also no mention of garlic bread int eh contract that the client signed which always includes the menu for the event. I am always happy to accommodate special requests and do whatever I can to make guests happy

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I am always happy to schedule a time to speak over the phone to ensure that all of your questions are answered. My job is to make your life easier and show your guests the best time possible! I have dozens of Menus to send over but am also happy to customize to a customer's requests, including integrating Vegan options or accommodating for any dietary restrictions or allergies.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I spent over a decade cooking in some of the best kitchens in the city, including working under Chef Ryan Johnston, an award winning Chef and former protege of Thomas Keller, at his former venue WhisknLadle which was San Diego's first Farm To Table Restaurant, as well as at his Michelin Star rated restaurant Catania, both located in La Jolla. I also started out working under Chef Keegan Gerhard, former host of the Food Network Challenge and a renowned Chef and Restauranteur from Chicago and Denver.
