FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Currently, my rates are $13 for a 30 minute lesson, once a week or$19.50 for a 45 minute lesson once a week. Tuition is due once a month, at the first lesson of the month. New student interviews are free. Books are not included in lesson price, though they typically run about $25 every 6 months. I request a 24 hour notice for missed classes/ class reschedule or that week's fee is forfeit. Recital fees are split between the number of performing student families - typically about $15/each.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I meet with other local piano teachers and we discuss teaching methods and techniques we have used, currently use, and are interested in trying. I have worked with other teachers in the past for recitals and performances. I participate in webinars for piano teachers, semi-annually.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have played piano since I was small. My mother was a piano teacher when I was a girl, and I have always loved to play. I love to teach and work with others. I love to share music with others; being able to teach a way of expression and joy to people who can let it shape their lives is amazing!
