Shane has been giving my 16-yr old piano lessons for several months now. He’s patient and does an excellent job teaching her. I appreciate that he lets her pick music that she wants to play, as well as provide some of the classic piano tunes. I highly recommend hiring Shane!

Shane is an amazing teacher and multitalented musician. He has been teaching my son guitar and bass for over two years. He also instructs my son and a group of friends in their "garage band". One of the things I love about Shane is his ability to cater his instruction to any type of music genre. My son has played in both a metal and grunge band (his current band) with Shane. They play a lot of 90's covers, but Shane has also helped them write and play several originals. The dad's in the neighborhood are always commenting on how good they sound! It's really so cool for these kids! I am so grateful that Shane has been able to come to our house for practices during these difficult times. It has offered the kids some normalcy and they love hanging out together and with Shane. Shane is not only a highly experienced musician, he is also a phenomenal teacher and such a positive good role model for these kids! We love him! I feel so fortunate to have him as my son's instructor and mentor!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I possess three collegiate degrees in the field of music. I have obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Music Recording Technology and an Associate of Science in Music from Finger Lakes Community College and a Bachelor of Music from Syracuse University. I have also had the opportunity to write music and work as a touring musician for many years. I have been associated with three record labels as a writer and performer: Panic Records, Aux Records, and LRS Records. I am proudly endorsed by FGN Guitars.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My passion for music started at the age of ten when I got my first guitar. It was the thing I couldn’t put down, no matter what. A statement that still rings true to this very day. I also was always drawn towards helping people. Whether it be an internship, a volunteer opportunity, or an entire job, I consistently found myself working to guide others. After some years of performing and making music, I decided it was time to make my two passions into one career. I moved to California from New York to take an opportunity at a school in the area. I was able to move up into an assistant director role at the school before the COVID-19 pandemic would cause me to be laid off. Though at the time, I was very defeated, it would give me the opportunity to form Conzone’s Music and take my career into my own hands. I approach every day as an opportunity to give someone the gift of music. I am extremely passionate about what I do and thankful I am able to help people on their musical journey!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice on hiring a music teacher would be to find someone that can address the musical/instrumental needs of the student, but also someone you feel the student can connect with. A music teacher is a person the student will be interacting with regularly and often sharing their thoughts and feelings with. Be sure to evaluate if you think the instructor will be a good personality fit and that the student can truly bond with them.
