Introduction: Sandy taught a multi-level ESL class at the community center in Foster City, California. At the same time, Sandy was a teaching assistant in the ESL department at City College of San Francisco. When she was a graduate student, Sandy presented a career-readiness curriculum development project with three of her colleagues at CATESOL 2018 Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA. Sandy graduated from San Francisco State University in 2018 with a M.A degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), as well as a B.A. degree in urban studies and planning in 2015. Her educational background ignites her interests in linking urban development to language teaching. Sandy also teach conversational and formal Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) to all ages, including academic writing, phonetic Pinyin, and well-known poems from various dynasty.
