    Excellent service
Lane has been fantastic! Our pup always come home happy and tired. He's also been great help as far as training goes!

Lane is great. He is very caring and treats the dogs he walks with love and personal care. I appreciate that he very flexible to accommodate my changing dog care needs. He is also great at communicating with the dog owners on an ongoing basis so I know when my dog is being picked up, dropped off and what occurred during the walk.

Due to a change in jobs I no longer worked out of my house so we needed a dog walker. Choosing Lane was truly the best decision we could have made. Lane is a consummate professional and shows that professionalism everyday. He is on time and treats the dogs as if they were his own which is a HUGE peace of mind. I could not be happier.

Lane has cared for my 2 dogs for the past 2 years. I rely on him for his expertise in all area, "dog." He gives me training tips and has spent extra attention in training my dogs for their individual needs. Lane is highly reliable, dependable and kind. As a working person, having Lane every day to care for my dogs while I am gone, is a huge help. He is the BEST!!!

I truly am grateful for Lane's services for being so flexible and accommodating. My dog absolutely loves to go with Lane, while he had shown reluctance to go to another dog daycare. Watching my dog getting excited to go with Lane makes me happy every time:)

Lane has been walking my dog everyday for 2 years and pet sitting her about once a month at his home. I am beyond satisfied with the service. He cares about my dog, has helped significantly with training and socialization, and is more than accommodating to my schedule--all while keeping costs low. I can't imagine using anyone else. I especially love the daily Facebook photos and gps tracking of the group walks. I know he genuinely loves dogs and his job. Can't recommend him enough.

Lane is an absolute professional. As one would hope, he obviously loves dogs (and they love him back). What really comes through is his utter professionalism. He is always prompt in his communications. His pricing is clear. He makes scheduling extremely easy. Just a total pro. I also like how much emphasis he places on making sure each dog is the right fit for the pack. It's evident how much fun my dog is having when I check out the photos that Lane posts to Facebook. I am extremely happy with the service thus far.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The Panting Pooch offers a discounted walk price to customers that pre-schedule and pre-purchase 12 or more walks each month. Customers who purchase 12 or more walks receive walks at the price of $22 each.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The Panting Pooch will first schedule a 20 minute telephone interview to allow you the opportunity to ask any questions that you have regarding The Panting Pooch or its services. During this telephone interview The Panting Pooch will also ask a series of questions to better understand yours and your pooch's needs. After the telephone interview The Panting Pooch will schedule an in-person meeting and will complete a temperament evaluation on your pooch.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2012 I graduated from the dog*tec Dog Walking Academy. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR by Pet Tech every two years. In 2015 I completed the Pet Addict Dog Behavior & Psychology Course. In 2016 I completed The Karen Pryor Academy's Dog Trainer Foundations Course.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Until 2013 dog walking in San Francisco was an unregulated industry and pet care is still primarily unregulated so it is important that you thoroughly vet any pet care providers. Choose a dog walker that has formal training, pet first aid training, a commercial dog walking permit, and liability insurance. It is also important to ask what kind of training methods the dog walker uses and what will happen if your dog is misbehaving.
