- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 25 years of real “on the job” training. That means out in the world playing and performing. I average around 150-200 shows a year between my various projects. Sometimes 6 gigs a week.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started playing guitar at age 12, and just learned by ear, listening to recordings and playing with friends. Was self taught for 10 years before studying formally and getting my degree in jazz studies
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently , I had the opportunity to work as musical director for a great RnB vocal group called Pinay. The first show at Brooklyn Basin in Oakland sold out in 24 hours, so they added a second earlier show and that also sold out. So fun!
