I had a great time taking lessons with David this summer. He is friendly and flexible, and helped me learn to sing and play guitar at the same time. We worked through most of Rubber Soul together! Highly recommend!Jul 31, 2017Verified
Singing Lessons (for adults)
I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.Apr 17, 2017Verified
I have been taking guitar lessons from David Williams for a few months now. I always look forward to my classes with him. He is a professional who is patient and understanding. Besides instructing me on guitar, he is also teaching me how to sing! He teaches me what I need to learn on the guitar in order to advance my knowledge. He is also open to me bringing in songs I want to play. He is a supportive teacher who is sincerely interested in his student's learning. He breaks down complicated musical concepts in a step by step process that enhances student confidence and mastery. I highly recommend David Williams.Jul 5, 2017
The initial introduction and first lesson with David were great. He was responsive and really open to input from me regarding what I was looking to accomplish. Web conference lesson was easy and comfortable. Looking forward to more lessons and progressing with David.Jan 10, 2019Verified
I've had 2 lessons with David so far, and they've been great. He's been a very encouraging teacher, and he adapts his teaching to my learning progress. I'm planning to continue with the lessons and am excited to learn guitar!Jan 29, 2018Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?- I work with customers to understand the exact skill level of the student during the first lesson. - During the first lesson, I also work to engage the student and give them a positive experience and provide information to get them started and excited about music lessons. - Lessons can be done online.
- What types of customers have you worked with?- I teach a broad spectrum of ages, levels, and genres; brand new students who have never worked with a guitar, to experts who perform regularly. I enjoy working with students of all skill levels. - acoustic guitar or electric guitar. - I can teach students how to play different genres of music, including Rock, Blues, Flamenco, Jazz, Country and Folk.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?- If you're a beginner, think about what you are interested in learning and what kinds of goals you have in mind for your lessons. Be specific about the kinds of music you see yourself playing. - If you are advanced or a professional, you likely have goals in mind; maybe tweaking a technique or habit, bolstering your knowledge of theory, filling gaps in the map of the fretboard, or learning more esoteric concepts about music and performing in general.
