Clifford is a talented jazz pianist but also a wonderful instructor .He teaches comprehensive piano- jazz, classical and music theory. He makes learning music fun. Some lessons we listen and learn from the masters- such as Bill Evans. Other lessons we play tunes together. Learning music is a long journey- but well worth it.
Neil is so encouraging and enthusiastic. I have a lot of fun at my lessons and he always pushes me. When I think I can't do something Neil says, "Just keep doing it! You're creating neural pathways" and that's always a good reminder for me to be patient with myself. Drumming is something I always dreamed of doing and his support and patience is helping me meet this goal!
Started going for violin lessons (I'm in my 20's with no music background). Had only a couple of classes so far. I really like the pace and her style of teaching. She is professional and very easy to work with.
My boys are enjoying their lessons and having fun. Andi is patient, kind and inspires my boys to do their best.
Stella has been a wonderful teacher! I've never taken any sort of music lessons and was worried about starting lessons as an adult. I came across Stella after looking through many websites and am glad I did. Stella is extremely patient and encouraging throughout the sessions. I can't tell you how many times I mess up in an hour and she always tends to find something good to say about what I've done. I really enjoy taking lessons with her and would recommend her to anyone needing a supportive and knowledgeable teacher.
Kelly made the first lesson super fun and engaging for my boys. We will be continuing lessons with Kelly!
My family has started lessons with Juan Carlos, and we're happy we found him. He's a patient teacher who structures lessons based on each student's progression and skill set. He also teaches the "right" way, i.e. fundamentals, thereby setting up students for success. It also helps that he's a nice guy and is extremely responsive with scheduling etc.
Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.
I can't say enough about my experience with Ken. He is very intuitive. His lessons are balence between exercises and therory. I have alway found myself mentally stimulated, with plenty of work for my fingers. He is very energetic and reaches out between lessons to give you more music to play with. His warm and friendly personality make the lessons fly by. He also willing to work through tought topics without cutting the lesson short (schedule permitting ). I really appreciate his effort into his students. He has also been pretty flexible with my shedule. As an adult these are not the piano lessons I hated as a child. Lol
I'm loving taking lessons with Ilana! I love how she quickly could tell the pace I learn and how much she pushes me to improve my skills! Totally recommend her!
I would recommend Dylan to anyone looking for guitar lessons for themselves and their children! He is wonderfully patient and very knowledgeable. He will work with you on any song you like and use it to teach technique and theory, thus making it a lot more interesting. We moved about 1.5 hours away and still prefer making the trek for lessons over finding someone local to us!
Both of our kids ( 12 and 10 ) are having a nice time with Lynn while learning their drills. She connects with them individually and helps them learn their drills in a smooth way. Our daughter loves her voice and piano lessons. On the other hand, our son did not want to take piano lessons at all but after a few lessons with Lynn, he decided to stay with it! How great is that! Thank you so much Lynn!!! :-) I am happy and looking forward to seeing more of their progress!
Wow, Ann has been great! I've never taken any voice lessons before, and in fact, I'm a terrible singer! The reason why I wanted to take lessons was because I've always wanted to be able to sing at least one song decently. So, I was nervous going to my first lesson with a professional voice coach. She was very friendly, and put me at ease immediately. She casually taught me about the basics, and asked me a lot of questions to get to know me. Once she realized I had no prior experience, she got right to work! She made the lessons fun, but also full of new things to learn. I've only had a couple of lessons so far, but I'm already noticing a big difference!!! And I'm an absolute beginner! Sometimes she sings for me to show me techniques, and she blows me away with her singing! I can imagine that even professional singers would get a lot out of taking lessons from her! She notices even the tiniest of details about your voice and makes note and suggests ways to improve! I definitely recommend!
Liz is an amazing music teacher and person. I started taking lessons with her when I started flute in the 5th grade and kept taking lessons wih her through the end of high school. The only reason I stopped was because I moved away to college. Liz is a true musician. She knows music and she knows how to teach. I was always impressed wih Liz's ability to make very complex music reachable. What I love so much about Liz is that she makes music personal. She asked what I was interested in and made sure that I got to learn the type of flute because that is what I was interested in. This is in contrast to some other music teachers I had when I played other instruments earlier in my life. I remember sometimes I would be tired from school or sports practice earlier, or maybe I had had a rough day, and would not want to go to my lesson. Of course I would go and not once did I regret it. I ALWAYS left lessons happy. Liz made music and lessons fun. She is truly invested in her students. She builds relationships with them. I graduated from college and a teacher myself now and I still talk to Liz to catch up because we are more than just student-teacher we are friends. I still think of Liz when I hear Christmas music or Flight of the Bumblebee.
I can't say enough good things about working with Patricia. She is always on time, always professional, incredibly knowledegeable, and always ready for our lessons. I have grown tremendously since I started working with her! I've actually started taking both voice and piano lessons from her because she is that good. She is classically trained and knows her stuff so well and can explain it so well that even a 5 year old could understand it.
I went to Andre having absolutely zero knowledge of drums or any musical instrument what-so-ever. He's very nice and has made me feel comfortable about my skill level. He's definitely very knowledgeable and very encouraging about your progress. He really wants to help you out. I have a lot of fun at his lessons and they seem to just fly by. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to learn the drums.
Chris is a really good musician and teacher. Some musicians are so good they forget what it's like to 'not know'. Chris can be with you, where you're at even though he is a highly skilled player. His patience is very encouraging. It's inspiring to take lessons with him and to remember we all NEED music!
I enjoyed how Alison interacted with my children in teaching the guitar and piano.not only was she professional, knowledgable, but she made the lessons enjoyable. My children look forward to their lessons & I would reccomend her wholeheartedly
Amy is a terrific teacher. An outstanding, Curtis-trained musician herself, Amy brings the exacting precision of high level artistry to her pedagogy, but at the same time makes it fun. She is a perfectionist with regard to technique and focuses in with laser precision on flaws in bowing, finger position, wrist flexibility, posture and, of course, the myriad elements of musical interpretation. You really feel like you've gotten a thorough work out by the time it's over, yet she's always cherubic! She also makes it seem like a mutual, adventurous discovery, even though it's all got to be cello 101 for her--which I appreciate since I'm an older student. She happily shares her vast knowledge, spanning all periods of music from the medieval to the post-modern, and has thoughtful insights on musicology, currents in musical development, even theories of tuning. A talented pianist, Amy can accompany on the piano as well, which is a bonus. But when she accompanies you on the cello, she makes even a beginner sound like a pro. She also speaks excellent Italian! Perhaps the greatest compliment I can add after all this is that I bring my daughter for cello lessons with Amy as well. I recommend her to cellists at any level from beginner to pros just needing an intelligent set of ears.
I am manny and he was drum teacher and my advisory and he’s good got great timing , good rythym and has many great teaching lessons that won’t make you forget of those lessons
Mark Sowlakis has been an excellent saxophone and clarinet teacher for both of our sons. Our older son started taking saxophone lessons with Mark when he was in middle school and studied with him through high school. Our younger son began clarinet lessons with Mark about seven years ago. In middle school he decided to take up the saxophone so he could join the jazz band. Mark was able to teach him both instruments. Our sons always enjoyed their lessons with Mark and he really helped bring out their best musical talents. In addition, he has always been flexible with scheduling lessons. Most recently he has accommodated our requests for help with music scholarship applications and auditions.
