Yingshuang is a great Mandarin teacher. I contacted her as a complete beginner and have seen great progress since starting my lessons. I can confidently ask questions and communicate within particular scenarios, after only a few months tutoring! Yingshuang is patient and will help you keep moving forward. Practice is a must with Mandarin as it is a hard language to learn but Yingshuang will help you address problems you're having and give you recommendations along the way. We have built a great student/teacher relationship and I look forward to continuing my lessons throughout this year!

My Mandarin classes have been extremely productive. Standard Mandarin offers a customized, disciplined, and fun way to learn Mandarin.My teacher, Yinshuang has helped me with speaking, listening, reading, and writing without cutting any corners. I get homework each week along with additional resources to read and practice listening. In addition to the phenomenal teaching and practical homework, Yinshuang also arranges for groups of students at the same level to share homework and at a certain level, to do projects together. This gives me additional opportunity to practice. Yinshuang also emphasizes the differences between Western an Chinese culture while teaching. This helps me not only understand the language at a deeper level but also provides mnemonic footholds that help me retain new vocabulary and characters more easily. I think the value of these lessons is phenomenal and HIGHLY recommend Standard Mandarin to both new and experienced students.

We hired Angela to teach our five and nine-year-olds Mandarin. We have had three lessons with her and so far, we are thrilled to have found her. Angela is thoughtful, intentional, enthusiastic, committed and genuinely cares about how my kids are learning. She always comes to lessons on time and prepared with worksheets, tools and lesson plans. She makes up games to keep the kids engaged and interested. She keeps a great balance between fun and structured teaching. She is a gifted teacher. Right now she's teaching them Pinyin and even though their progress is slower because we only see her once a week, I am happy with how much they're enjoying lessons. We cannot recommend her enough!
