FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I also ran a commercial recording facility in Los Angeles for over a decade before relocating to beautiful San Francisco. I have worked with some of the best engineers and musicians in (or out of) the business who have shared a wealth of knowledge that keeps me learning to this day.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
These days most of my hired work comes from mixing records. I love mixing and my mixes come from the perspective of a musician, composer, and songwriter. I understand how sounds and energy build the emotional impact of a mix. I have produced many records as well and also love to work as a producer on great music! I also play several instruments well enough to know what sounds cool or when to find a musician to play a part that makes a track work.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice is to find someone who can give you honest feedback on how to make your project land on its best legs, possibly save you money along the way, and not treat your music like "just another project for hire." I know your music is important to you, so getting the results you desire depend on several parts of the process. My goal is to help you reach that sound you hear in your head and finding solutions to make that happen matter to me. If your recording is not quite ready for the results you expect, I can offer ideas to help you get it there so we can both reach that goal.
