Personal Training

I first started my fitness journey after learning my body fat percentage had hit a personal high of 27%. It was then I decided to make health a priority in my life and start taking exercise and nutrition seriously. I signed up for Thumbtack and put out a request for a trainer near my home. John was one of the first to respond. We spoke on the phone about my goals and then scheduled a free consultation where we practiced a few basic movements and took my measurements. After our consultation, I committed to 20 personal training sessions. In each session, John tailors exercises with my goals in mind, and pushes me beyond what I think I'm capable of. He is always mixing up exercises to keep things interesting and my body guessing. John has me training with everything from kettle bells and cables, to rowing machines and TRX. In addition to the challenging workouts, John is consistent and reliable. He sends calendar invites for our scheduled training sessions and lets me know in advance if he needs to reschedule. It's now been nearly 18 months since we first started training. I've lost inches of body fat and gained confidence and energy. I look forward to our training sessions and even have my boyfriend hooked on couple workouts with John. :) I cannot recommend him enough for those ready to commit to a healthy lifestyle.

I recently hired John to help me develop a better training routine and improve my overall strength. He started by scheduling a free consultation to assess my personal needs and then followed up with an hour evaluation of my current capabilities and deficiencies. On the day of my first training session, John had a 4-5 page document prepared that gave me a line item breakdown of my workouts for the next 12 weeks based on my goals. This comprehensive plan also included stretches that help to break up scar tissue that develops from sitting in a chair all day. He also offered to help me with my dieting habits, something that he was currently doing for a handful of other trainees he works with. If you are looking for a thorough approach to improving your overall health and strength, John is your man!

It was a good experience. I initially wanted to go through the whole program but unfortunately, I knew I was moving to NYC after I signed up for it. So I wasn’t able to continue with the workout program. From the first sessions I had, Rani was my trainer, it all went good, the training I had was excellent. I will definitely reach back for more when and if I come back to SF!

After working out by myself for a while, I was hitting one of those plateaus and found myself losing interest and motivation for living a healthy life. That's when I decided that I need professional help like what John is providing. He is extremely knowledgable about the subject and willing to go above and beyond to help you to reach your goals. I'm not stating that he will do everything for you, but he gives you the proper directions for you to stay motivated throughout the program. He's a busy man, but he is always available via texts/email if you have any questions or concerns. If anyone is looking to level up their fitness game, I would highly recommend John. The personal training service can be a little pricey but what you will get out of the program is something that money can't substitute.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    We start everyone on 12 weeks of personal training.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We first have a short phone call to go over goals and logistics of training. We then book an hour in person assessment. This is also a strategy session where we put together the best possible outline for their success and give a couple different options in full package form.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a BS degree from middle Tennessee state U. With an emphasis in exercise science. I currently hold 11 nationally credited certificates 2 of which are in nutrition, with the other in different areas of personal training.
