- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm flexible. Typically a dollar a minute, but i'm giving discounts now to grow my business.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I observe the physiology of the student and try to identify the process that is hindering the student. I combine that with teaching a musical understanding of the piece so that we cover both aspects of performance. Very often the student has problems with the weaker fingers (4th and pinky), and other problems that are physical in nature. I check that melodies are played in a legato style where appropriate, with a minimum of pedal or no pedal, that the hand is relaxed and in a natural position for effective playing. We try to cover musical pieces of interest, the music styles that the student is interested in, and what he or she wants to achieve.
