I have very much enjoyed learning guitar from Lucia and I look forward to our lessons every week! She is knowledgeable, patient, and fun to work with. She has a flexible and collaborative approach to teaching too which I appreciate. I have learned many beloved songs thanks to her!

Lucia's instructional style worked really well for me. I appreciated how we would work on multiple songs at once, and each week she would give me very specific, detailed observations about ways I could improve as well as ways I was growing. The pacing of our lessons was really nice too. We would cover everything from technique to big picture habits and music theory when it would come up naturally. I think Lucia's style really encourages a growth mindset - she is not nearly as concerned about perfection as she is about continual growth and improvement. That said, she is also able to offer pointed, specific critique which always helped me grow a lot from week to week. Also, because I was interested in specifically learning fiddle, Lucia would carve out time in each class to teach me fiddle tunes and we would talk about the genre more specifically. I had to take a break from learning violin but if / when I pick it back up there is no one else I want to teach me!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a trial lesson, to see if we would be a good fit. From there, if we've decided to work together, we'll identify your goals and create a google doc that compiles everything we work on each week in one place. You can go back to that information for the rest of your life!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's of Music in Professional Music. My concentration was Violin Performance, and my minor was American Roots Music.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been teaching music since high school - both in group settings and one-on-one, to people of all ages and backgrounds. I love it and it truly is my passion!
