Matt Chappell LCSW Individual Psychotherapy
It’s free with no obligation to hire
Introduction: I view psychotherapy as a vocation (not an occupation). It is an extreme honor to be able to work with anyone, especially when progress is made and lives change for the better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are required by law to have a set number of continuing education courses per year in order to maintain requirements for the licence. In addition to the required information, I continue to read and expand my knowledge base independently mainly through careful review of texts, scholarly journals, and collegial input. A good therapist is aware of what they need to learn.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I provide individual psychotherapy, short term or long term in a collaborative manner. I will consider couples counseling. I provide consultation. I am certified to provide clinical supervision for LCSW licensing. I have extensive experience with substance abuse and those involved with substance users of all kinds, or compulsive behaviors. I have extensive experience with HIV, terminal illnesses and strong understanding of many medical diagnosis from years of hospital based experience.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?I believe strongly that psychotherapy is a very important life decision, my suggestion would be to interview a few therapist to ensure that the chemistry is comfortable and will work for you. If you have insurance call the back of your insurance card for mental health services for list of therapists. I currently do not take insurance however, will provide necessary paperwork. I also do sliding scale. Available evenings and weekends.
